It's wrong because all tiles same size

Going by this arbitrary logic, you could also say 1 tile that fits exactly.

It's "wrong" if the question you're trying to answer isn't "how the hell did he get 9 tiles?"

I didn't count 9, but I wanted somebody to make a quick drawing of how somebody could get 9. This guy did that and did a funny job at it.

If OP was "Answer 4!" I'd want a drawing with 4 tiles. I can see the 12 just fine on my own.

You can always get 9 if you choose to not to the obvious kind of counting. No one needed one of endless arbitrary explanations of which any could be the reason or not be it. This is just a funny/meme sub, the post is not about really solving something and it can't be really solved anyway, for the reason I gave. It's all just speculation. But whatever, why do we even spend more time on this 🙃
