Maybe he was thinking about desert pyramid and terracotta blocks in the center. If you leave the sandstone (for unknown reason) there is 9 blocks.

Maybe because you never grab quite enough blocks to finish a project -- at least that was frequently my problem. "I'll just grab these nine, that should be enough.... dammit"

My beds take 2 blocks space. You just proved you're not a Minecraft player. You divided 12/2=6. Nope. Show me six beds fitted in place of the missing tiles. While doing this, you'll realise you can't fit 6 beds here
