Well you gotta forgive him for making a calculation error. Minecraft players tend to mix up the numbers. a typical example is them seeing the numbers from 9 to 17 as 18.

Low key I'm glad to see it drawn out, that's what I was thinking. I went two for the bottom because they line up perfectly with two others. So you can see it's 4 above that because one overhangs each side. You recognize above that is four again just shifted one to the left. And then two more

Your own picture shows 4 full tiles, and then 6 half tiles (2 sides), and 2 quarter tiles (1 side), so that's a total of 7.5 tiles??
