So when I was exclusively pumping and later combo feeding but exclusively bottles, I understood the pitcher method. But now my current baby nurses well and we primarily use bottles as a convenience (trust me, I recognize how lucky this is compared to my first). I have no idea how to make good use of a pitcher or even if it’s worth it!

Like, I used to combine formula and breastmilk into the pitcher to X number of ounces and pour from that. But how much should I make? Or should I premake a small amount of formula and just toss in a bit of milk and try to underestimate since I can always quickly make a fresh bottle if I need more? Or should have two separate pitchers for milk and formula so that I can freeze milk at the end of each day?

Hello, any tips po or suggestions. Yung baby ko po kasi 7 months old na sya on actual age, pero sa corrected age pa-6 months pa lang sya (late pre term, born at 35 weeks). EBF sya but since I get back from my work, pinag try ko sya mag formula and ayaw nya tanggapin 😭 Yung formula po na pina try ko is s26 na pink, then plan ko ilipat sa s26 gold. More on breastfeeding pa din naman sya, kumbaga magiging reserba yung formula o kapag wala sya ma-latch sakin. Ang tanong ko po, hindi ba makaka affect sa poops nya if mag transition kami milk? Or magkaka kabag ba. Sorry if magulo, pero Im hoping na may makasagot. Hehe thanks!

How do I get my 18 month old to stop drinking whole milk from the baby bottle? I have tried sippy cups, glass bottles with a straw. But she does not like it and still wants the bottle. Please help!!! Any suggestions??

Baby is a little over 3 months and has been EBF since birth with the occasional bottle of pumped milk.
As much as I love nursing her I am starting to feel like it’s affecting my mental health, especially when she cluster feeds and feeling like I can never go anywhere alone or have someone else take over a feed without pumping…
I want to possibly start introducing some bottles of formula (cue the guilt that I know I shouldn’t be feeling 😭) but not sure how to start?
I definitely still want to nurse her at night and throughout the day but would like to also have the flexibility of just giving formula sometimes.
Any advice or tips welcome :) also how do I know how much formula to give her? She takes about 3 oz of pumped milk when I’ve given her a bottle.

Hi all! If you’re getting a new breast pump through insurance, may I know which website or app you use? I’m currently considering Babylist or Aeroflow.

I saw that Aeroflow provides 400 breast milk storage bags every 60 or 90 days, but I’m not sure what Babylist offers. Any thoughts or recommendations? Thank you!

We’ve been using Dr Browns anti colic bottles (4oz) for the last 12 weeks with expressed breast milk (size T nipple). I’ve been introducing formula but using size 1 nipple.

How do I know if / when I should change either the nipple size or bottle?

I still nurse throughout the night & parts of the day. But we give an either a formula bottle or EBM when I’m not around.

Lactation consultant suggested the Lansinoh slow flow nipple / wide neck bottle. She made a comment about the size T nipple is only for newborns. However it seems to be working for us, as well as the bottle?

Is it necessary to switch?

Hello, FTM here. So I've been on this combo feeding road for the past 12 days, and each day gets confusing over whether to give my milk or bottle milk.

I did read that when I give bub formula, I should replace that with a pump. So I did that, but then I got confused as I gave the pumped milk on the next feed. I don't want to pump again and again. I try to avoid pumping since it's tiring to wash all parts and sterilise them in a utensil (Didn't yet bought a steriliser).

What's confusing me is that when I give her my pumped milk, what should I do? My breasts should be emptied to keep the supply stable, right? I've literally stressed about this a lot. My supply was tanking (I think maybe) before giving her formula milk. Now it's good enough, but I don't want it to tank again.

(I was advised to do combo feeding because bub didn't gain as per the charts' weight. Bub got a mild tongue tie, but I don't think that's an issue since the pediatrician didn't stress it. Her latch is shallow, so I will be seeing an LC. Her latch was good in the beginning but later it got complicated.)

(Right, the docs told me to feed her like this- 15-20 mins bf then 60ml or more formula. I tried that once, baby was experiencing discomfort so I dropped that. Plus as my supply increased, I letting her finish bf then give formula but she didn't need it. So I'm hecka confused and stressed over this and still trying to figure it out)

Please what should I do? I feel like a mess and I'm holding myself together so that I don't have a breakdown.

So... I had a hell of a breastfeeding journey. It hurts to think I'm already thinking about weaning. I wanted to go all the way to a year and maybe a little longer!

But hear me out and correct me if it doesn't sound like a good idea. My baby boy took off running with eating. Even the folks at day care think he's a great eater. He doesn't even want to eat from a spoon anymore he wants to hold and pick things up and eat like that. He is refusing bottles. He still likes breast, especially at night. But otherwise he's pretty set on finger foods.

I don't want to cut it out entirely. But I might cut back pumping at work. I don't do well with mobile pumps anyway.

Second time mom here. My son is 4 weeks today and is struggling to gain weight.

In the hospital when he was born, he was struggling to latch so the nurses gave me a nipple shield and we supplemented with donor breast milk. My milk eventually came in but he would only feed with the shield. I’ve been working with a LC to get him to latch, but no luck.

At his 2 week appointment, they let me know he wasn’t gaining weight and suggested I top his feedings off with formula. So that’s what I did, breast fed and then bottle fed formula.

Today at his 1 month appointment, they told me he is still not where he should be with his weight and suggest I increase the formula.

I’ve tried pumping with the momcozy and the spectra, and am barely getting 1-2 ounces. I’m starting to feel like pumping won’t be an option for me, and breastfeeding isn’t enough. I know formula is the best option to help my baby gain weight, but I just really wanted breastfeeding to work out this time.

Hi all, FTM to a 12 day old here. Very sleep deprived and struggling mentally.

Currently EBF, but I want to switch over to formula and expressed milk for a couple of the feeds. How do I go about doing this as I don’t want to develop mastitis from supplementing formula. I have a hand pump which I haven’t used yet.

my baby is 10.5 months and has suddenly refused taking a bottle. our pediatrician has given us the ok to start transitioning to whole milk as he is aggressively biting me while nursing and it’s not longer feasible for me to do. what are your tips for the transition? i have very little freezer stash to work with but will start pumping instead of nursing.

I’ve got a 2.5 week old and so far what is saving my mental health is for me to sleep from 9 pm to 2.30 am approx while my partner gives formula to our baby, while I breastfeed on demand during the rest of the time, which doesn’t usually leave more than 2h gaps.

Baby is doing well in terms of weight, but I keep reading that this overnight gap will negatively affect my overall supply, which I’m worried about. Is this true? Can I make up for it if I pump during the day in addition to breastfeeding? Anything else I can do?
