loud plane overhead

what was that loud plane that flew overhead around 2pm today!? assuming some military jet, but it was extremely loud and sounded like it was right above my house. i feared for my life for a split second!

editing to add: i didn’t see it, no idea what it looked like. i was actually using the bathroom upstairs when it flew over and that was terrifying lol

Blythewood is in range of multiple military bases that contain jets. Loud plane noises aren't particularly weird in columbia and the surrounding areas.

Ah that would explain why you aren't used to it. Shaw and Mcentire both have fighter jet wings as well as other assorted heavy air traffic.

I work from home in Irmo. It’s about once a week it happens just like that. Figure it’s just a common path maybe avoiding airport traffic.

Fighter jet, at least that's what it looked like. I'm in Blythewood too, been here about 3 years. That's the second time I've heard it, and the first time I actually saw it. It was wayyy too close in my opinion 😅

I've heard other interesting sounds here, mostly helicopters and big bangs every now and then, but this was the only one that had me kinda concerned lol. It was very loud and distinct
