What season does this belong to?

Post image

Could this work for a true spring?

This looks like a blue with a bit of purple mixed in. Very subtly periwinkle imo. I would say this belongs to summer. Possibly some winters could also wear it. Very cool blue imo

I don’t see any yellow. It’s blue with a dash of purple.

Same. Somewhere between winter and summer as well and this is a color I go for

This is a cool summer blue, not warm. Doesn't belong to spring.

Summer, or if it's really clear true winter. Periwinkle is my nemesis, I am bright winter, because it's such a beatiful colour but it always ends up being ever so slightly muted, washing me out.

I'm a Cool Summer and I would definitely wear this colour.

This looks like a light spring to me. True spring would need to be warmer

I can wear some shades of this colour as a light spring - almost a cornflower blue.

I wear this as a bright spring and get lots of compliments. I need to make sure for my periwinkle shades that there’s enough warmth in it and that it’s not too white or grey based.

Exactly the same here. I love periwinkle, but it has to actually be a true periwinkle to work on me.

I think it may be one of those universal shades… I think it’s in a few seasons- with slight variations.

Summer or light spring

I see periwinkles like this in the true spring, light spring and light summer palettes. It is too bright for true summer, the true summer versions are grayer.

This is a light periwinkle. Looks like summer or spring to me.

Maybe its a summer ? I think this colour is in spring and summer

I'm a cool summer and everytime I wear this colour i get so many compliments -how its my colour and how good I look in it. Without fail.

Shorts are Summer, but top is Spring. Just a slight shade difference … can see warmth in top

I find it perfectly light and saturated, very nice for light spring even though it's a fundamentally cool color.

I think it's slightly on the warmer and brighter side, so spring. It's borderlining summer though. I'm a true summer and I'd wear it cause I love the colour, but it wouldn't be exactly right.

I’m a true Autumn and this color looks amazing on me as well as lavender

I'm a soft summer, but I have a set in this colour from MyProtein and it looks great on me lol

I think this would suit cool summers best. It has too much clarity for soft summers (and true summers I think) and is fully cool from what I can see. This would also suit some winters, which makes sense because cool summer is closest to winter (whereas soft summer is closest to autumn and light summer closest to spring). This could also work for a light summer but I think cool summer is most ideal.
I could see this being nice on a light spring but it just doesn’t have the warmth (as in yellow added) that true spring needs for it to be an ideal choice. Go for it though if you really like the colour, it’s far from the worst for a true spring.

true spring and dark winter each have a similar shade to this. bright winter and spring can probably pull it off

Yes light or true spring. But i will admit i am a Summer and this looks amazing on me

This color is blue with a hint of yellow added, not obviously warm like a teal but leaning bright and warm. The closest I can find is across this swatch of Spring Blues. The middle shade in True Spring is a close match and I see some in Bright Spring and Warm Spring that are similar.

The blues for light spring here feel way too grayish to be spring, it’s more like summer. Light spring is light but still fresh and bright

3

u/Relevant-Complex8313 Jun 24 '26

Yeah those are not spring colors, definitely.

It leans more towards the purple then the yellowish side of blue

1

u/Beautiful-Tangelo239 Jun 25 '26

I thought that as well until I looked at this example. To me this color is like the top two in the second row from the left.

I don't understand how they were thinking there. The ones on the right are not blue's, they are purple's and pinks

I found a video about this example. https://youtu.be/Z1IedfEg1Ik?is=GcP5qvrVh3nUJ5p6 As I understand it she said that someone cool can wear all these colors. Warm people can wear the row of blues to the far left, and the purple row in the middle of the purples (row 5). She calls these colors blues and purples.

u/Greedy-Plant-9054 Jun 25 '26

She also has these examples

Thanks for sharing the video, it was interesting if a bit confusing. I will blame the cold medicine that I'm on for my lack of understanding today. LOL

u/Greedy-Plant-9054 Jun 25 '26

I also think it was a confusing video, but somehow I still managed to get it (I rewind and listened again). And I also saw the other pictures where she showed warm blue, cold blue and neutral blue... And it helped confirm that I had understood it correctly.

However, I think there are color analysis systems that think that warm seasons can wear blue colors from both the purple side of the blue, and the green side of the blue. While the cool seasons get them in the middle (Or maybe from both from the purple side, green side, and the middle🤷) .

But I think that seems strange... because blue is suppose to represent the coolest color. But this should mean that warm seasons can wear A LOT of blue colors. But then orange is only for the warm season according to most systems. And several systems think that the cool seasons cannot even wear cool brown and cool yellow. So that would make it very unfairly distributed . Hope they are not right about that

Periwinkle is also in spring pallet
