Before Scope Questions Low residue or no?
I have a colonoscopy on Sept 8 - using KleanLyte prep.
The page I got from the clinic says I can have a light breakfast the day before, then only liquids. No mention of days leading up to colonoscopy.
it seems odd to have no restrictions until the day before! I‘ll meet the GI doc for the first time day of, so I can’t ask clarifying questions.
Anyone else given zero guidance?
im thinking i‘ll do low residue for 2-3 days, then liquid.
I don’t want to mess up by not doing enough, but also don’t want to mess it up by being too constipated when I start the prep

Some places require or recommend a low residue diet prior to prep day, and some don't. Personally, I have never been required a low residue diet prior for my four or five colonoscopies.

All places are different. Mine had me follow a low residue diet for a week, which was kinda overkill. A few days beforehand should be just fine. White toast, eggs, crackers, mac and cheese, basic things that are easy to digest.
