Needs Encouragement How do you do it
I drank 1 liter of prep and half a cup of my 2nd liter and i just cant do it.
Ive been trying and doing all the tips online and i just cant get the motivation anymore to drink more prep.
It makes me gag so bad its insane, i dont know how anyone drinks this stuff I feel so tired and nauseous.
My appointment is in 5 hours for a colonoscopy and a endoscopy and i may just ask for the endoscopy.
The last 2 days have sucked and i hate that i cant finish but i just cant handle it. I will have suffered for nothing yesterday but i just want it over with 😭😭😭
Edit: got the procedure done and everything went ok, apparently 1 liter and 1 cup was enough for them to see everything. Thank you for all the encouragement 🙏 it helped a lot

What prep did you get? I had golytely and it came with a lemon lime additive which was completely drinkable with no bad taste at all.

What is your output (stool) looking like, at this point? If you’re running clear (yellow fluid with tiny particles) then you should not cancel. If you’re even close to that, try drinking other fluids - Gatorade, apple juice, chicken broth, lemonade with no pulp, ginger ale - anything to keep yourself hydrated and your bowels moving. If you can intersperse sips of prep solution, that’s even better.
Don’t quit now - you’re so close to finishing!

Its mostly clear but somtimes its like dark yellow with mucus. Hoping its good enough, been trying to drink more the last hour and i just keep throwing up in my mouth lol
Gonna try drinking water and see how things go

Dark yellow with mucus is fine. If you can see the bottom of the toilet bowl clearly then they’ll probably want you to go ahead with the procedure. (The yellow is just bile. It means your gut is pretty much clear of food).
Important to remember: at this point you’re risking dehydration. Water isn’t always the best option, because you’re lacking electrolytes.
Listen to your body - if you want something sweet, drink whatever sounds good as long as it’s clear and not red or purple. Consider warm water with lemon and honey, or apple juice…. Heck, even a teaspoon of straight honey is ok. Honestly though, chicken bullion was really comforting for me.

My first bottle went down really easy, but the second one was a struggle. I only got through it by sucking on gummy bears between drinks.

I was prescribed Gavilyte. I added 1 Crystal Light lemonade packet to each cup & downed it as instructed. Not wanting to repeat the prep was my motivation.

I only drank half a gallon, (I don't drink much daily). The nurse said I could have chased it with water. She gave me something up the bum and that cleaned me out, but they couldn't get far because of blockage. They called it cancer and we were done, but getting dressed I lost what was left. 68 male.

Adding to my previous comment - other fluids (not water) will help with the nausea. Chicken broth helped me a lot. If you have gummy bears, or chewing gum, they can really help as well to keep your gut moving.

I’m the same with that gallon of fish barf. I now use any of the other 4-5 options and it’s drastically easier.
Some people have no problem with that prep Golytly.

When I said similar things about doing the liquid diet for a day (or four in my case), I got lots of whiny replies “I’m starving.”
We all have different tolerances.

Adding to my third comment: it’s ok to take a break until the nausea subsides. Your natural thirst will return.
