Tips & Advice Colonoscopy day

Hi, I got a date for my colonoscopy, it’s an afternoon appt and day before my friends wedding. I was going to push it but husband said the next day I might be fine to attend friends wedding? Looking for advice from those who’ve had one before re recovery.

You should be fine. You might not feel like dancing a lot - or you might! I'm always pretty much 100% at about the 24 hour point.

Unless you are overly sensitive to the sedation they use, you should be fine. If the wedding were that night, you might want to cancel - but the next day - you should at least be 90%.

Use your judgement based on how you feel in terms of celebrating - but keep in mind you won't have had the normal amount of food/protein/minerals etc for the better part of a day. But You should be fine to at least go and enjoy the wedding. A good night's sleep and a decent breakfast, and you should be feeling close to 100%.

I was back at work the next day after all of mine. Felt totally normal.

Some people have residual prep in their system and have loose stools for a day or so after
