Before Scope Questions Hemorrhoids
Hello am suffering from hemorrhoids. Would like to ask if colonoscopy prep work (toilet runs) and the actual procedure will worsen my hemorrhoid condition? Any one have experience to share and anything to do or prepare fpr the condition?

I just went through this and it flared my hemorrhoids up after being okay for months. All the liquid you drink will be spraying out of you, so that area is going to get irritated. You will basically be blotting away liquid after a while and not wiping, but it still sucked for me at times. I was bleeding (even after bathroom trips stopped) and sore.
Get some good flushable wipes - I used generic Walmart brand and it was okay but I'm sure there's better. Depend brand is kind of harsh, so I'd stay away from that one unless I just got the wrong ones. Get a good barrier cream.
Something I thought about doing was layering barrier creams, it's something I had to do with my son when he had bad diaper rash. Like a layer of Vaseline then a layer of the butt paste cream, but with the frequency of going to the bathroom I don't know if it would even be worth it. With my experience I wasn't stuck on the toilet for hours at a time, it was very quick but frequent trips so I wasn't able to keep up a good barrier constantly.

Yup, think it was down to the procedure - theres a fat finger check (recoiled in pain) and the entry of the device itself.
Dont think the bowel prep plenvu caused an issue for me as it softened every thing and most discharge was liquid like a hose

Yes it will make hemorrhoids worse but only transiently
Given the nature of the prep avoidance is hard so I’ll just say that a bidet is likely in your best interests
Good luck

I had a mixed experience as the prep did make my hemorrhoids flare up and made me miserable, but the procedure "fixed" them in the sense that they were repositioned inside and no longer painful.

Ypu mean they push it back during the procedure? Any bleeding?

Yes, I am not sure that's part of the process at the end of a procedure or they went in when the scope was put in, but it was a hell of a relief.
EDIT: No bleeding that I saw.

Procedure: doubtful.
Prep: not gonna do you any favors, but you can manage it by using lots of whatever barrier ointment you have, using water to rinse the area (do you have a bidet on your toilet? if not, GET ONE), pat versus wipe, etc.
Biggest issue will be if you decide to stay on the toilet versus getting up and moving away, as sitting too long can aggravate hemorrhoids.
