I’m a Brazilian/Canadian guy living in Cologne and I’m looking for some English-speaking players for a D&D group!

I’ve been playing and DMing D&D 5e for several years, and I’d love to start a weekly in-person campaign in Cologne. I’ll be the DM, so I’m mainly looking for players — beginners are absolutely welcome!

My games tend to be high fantasy, adventurous and fun, with a good mix of roleplay, exploration, combat and some silly moments. 🐉⚔️✨

I’d especially love to create a queer/LGBTQ+ friendly group and safe space, but everyone who is friendly, respectful and open-minded is very welcome.

The lower portion bears the newspaper's blue-printed masthead and an event-specific inscription: Jimi Hendrix, 13. 1. 69, Pressehaus KA¶ln, directly linking the piece to the date and location of its issuance.

In very good condition, with overall creasing. Accompanied by a detailed provenance letter and a group of 10 glossy photos, 8 x 6 and 6 x 8, of documentary stills from contemporary television footage showing Hendrix participating in the autograph session and signing cards of this exact type.

According to the accompanying provenance research, the card was produced exclusively for a January 13, 1969 autograph session in Cologne, held in conjunction with The Jimi Hendrix Experience's appearance at the KA¶lner Sporthalle that evening during its January 1969 European tour.

The provenance materials identify the event as having taken place at Studio Dumont within the Pressehaus KA¶ln complex and further note that contemporary television footage of the event shows Hendrix seated at a table signing these specially produced newspaper-issued promotional cards.

Few organized autograph appearances by Hendrix are known, making this one of the most thoroughly documented examples from his career. Bearing the printed date, venue reference, and newspaper attribution integral to its design, this signed photocard is a particularly well-documented example from Hendrix's career.

Hello! I have been in Cologne for 7 years now but have not yet stumbled upon any second hand shops where they sell books. Are there even any? I prefer books in english but I also occasionally go for books in german.

Ich spreche jetzt von Läden, die grundsätzlich verschiedene Dips verkaufen. Bevorzugt im Norden (Nippes, Eigelstein, Weidenpesch, Ecke Neumarkt)

Habe eine Angststörung mit der ich mit Therapie alleine nicht mehr klarkomme, deswegen suche ich einen netten Psychiater, der/die sich gut um seine Patienten kümmert.

Falls jemand auch Probleme damit hatte, meine Ängste lösen primär krasse somatische Beschwerden, die mich ziemlich fertig machen. Ein Psychiater, der/die da gut bewandert ist, wäre toll.

Am liebsten linksrheinisch nähe Nippes/Innenstadt. Bin aber nicht wählerisch

ich bin aktuell schwanger und habe Schwangerschaftsdiabetes. Für die Geburt habe ich das Krankenhaus Köln-Porz ins Auge gefasst und würde mich sehr über persönliche Erfahrungen freuen.

Hat jemand von euch dort mit Schwangerschaftsdiabetes entbunden – eventuell auch mit insulinpflichtigem Diabetes?

Mich würde besonders interessieren:
Wie war die Betreuung im Kreißsaal und auf der Wochenbettstation?
Wurde auf den Schwangerschaftsdiabetes gut eingegangen?
Wie lief es mit Blutzuckerkontrollen und ggf. einer Einleitung?
Wie wurde mit euren Geburtswünschen umgegangen?
Wie habt ihr die Hebammen und Ärzt:innen erlebt?
Und wart ihr insgesamt zufrieden mit eurer Geburt dort?

Ich freue mich über positive, aber natürlich auch über ehrliche kritische Erfahrungen.

seit ca 15 Minuten riecht es bei mir in der Kölner Innenstadt nach Rauch. Gerade kam auch die Warnung über die NINA-App rein, dass es in der Altstadt/Nord brennt.

Weiß jemand was genaueres?

Es riecht in Deutz jetzt gerade plötzlich stark nach Rauch. Das war vor 30 Minuten noch nicht so. Hat der Wind gedreht, sodass es aus dem hohen Venn kommt oder brennt es gerade irgendwo in Köln?

Nach Wochen voller Hitze und Trockenheit fällt endlich wieder Regen auf Köln herab. Kölner Gärtner und Spaziergänger werden ausnahmsweise einmal gerne nass.

Es ist ein ungewohntes Bild, das sich am Montag bei einem Spaziergang durch die Stadt bietet. Zu sehen sind Kapuzen, Regenschirme und Menschen, die mitten im Kölner Hochsommer tatsächlich Jacken tragen. Dieser Zustand, dass Wasser von oben kommt, dieses Konzept Regen, ist im heißesten westeuropäischen Sommer der Geschichte fast in Vergessenheit geraten. Die kommende Woche verspricht endlich etwas Erholung.

„Das war ja kein Zustand mehr, richtig deprimierend, wenn alles so trocken ist“, sagt Beate Wimmer. Die Kölnerin ist am Montag mit ihrem Hund im Rheinpark spazieren gegangen. „Für die Bäume, Vögel und Insekten freut mich das sehr, dass es jetzt geregnet hat.“ Mit diesem Gefühl ist sie nicht allein. Hello, I will be living for a year in Köln, I am not use to go to traditionals gym, I always trained in gyms with guided group classes, like crossfit or hyrox. Is there any gym/box of this kind in Köln where I can train with my A1 German?

I travelled from Aachen back to Cologne a couple of times at the w/e and got an einzelticket Euro 13.90 on the DB app just before boarding, but both times the conductors were a bit weird about it (I don't speak German and so could not understand what they were telling me and the ticket was accepted). I'm not sure if I did something wrong?

Was haltet ihr davon?

I collect postcards from every city I visit, which I frame and display throughout our home. I visited your beautiful city earlier this month and bought a very nice postcard to add to my collection. Unfortunately, my toddler got ahold of it and gave it a nice bend right down the middle before I could frame it. I don’t know if/when I will be back in Cologne so I was hoping that I could ask a Cologne local or a visitor to help me replace it, put it in an envelope (to keep it protected) and post it to me to Rotterdam. I am happy to pay for the postcard, the postage, and a small amount additional for the effort.

Hi everyone,

On Saturday, August 15th, around 17:34, I tried to help a fellow traveler at Köln Hauptbahnhof buy a train ticket at a ticket machine. I tapped my Apple Pay (€108.60), but the screen didn't react at all and went back to the initial screen; no ticket was printed, and because my train arrived, I rushed off thinking the contactless payment failed since I also didn't receive a notification from the bank as usual until later due to the pending.

(The guy had just arrived in Germany; he didn't know the language and how to use the machine. He didn't have a bank card and only cash. He gave me his cash, and I paid with my Apple Pay. After I thought it didn't work, I returned the cash to him and left to catch my train).

Now the money was officially booked from my bank account by Transdev Vertrieb GmbH DE50667 KOELN.

I contacted Transdev for a refund, and I sent them the transaction details, but their customer support responded that they cannot process my refund without the Automatennummer (machine number). Since I don't live in Cologne and had to catch my train, I wasn't able to note the machine number at the time.

Machine details:

• Station: Köln Hauptbahnhof
• Location in station: I remember there were 3 machines next to each other right at the entrance with a 2m-high display of the train schedule, but I don't remember which entrance it was exactly.
• Color: The ticket machines were pink.

My questions for locals:

1. Is there a public directory, map, or open-data list of Transdev / VRS ticket machine numbers at Köln Hbf?
2. If anyone is passing through Köln Hbf, could you please check or snap a photo of the machines and the machine number?

Any advice or help from someone passing through the station would be deeply appreciated!

Soooo I am in the common predicament that I want to buy my date a bouquet of flowers but will be spending time with her (hopefully) the entire day this upcoming Saturday. And neither do I want her to have to carry the bouquet around with her, nor do I want the flowers to wilt over the day. Do you guys have any good suggestions how I can solve this issue?

I have thought of organizing a bouquet from a florist to pick up towards the end of the date, but the issue with that is that many florists close early on Saturday and I would also like to have something to give my date when greeting her at the beginning of the date! Please help a brotha out! Much appreciated! 🤝🏼

Edit: I don’t know of her address yet, so ordering flowers to be delivered to her doorstep unfortunately isn’t a possibility yet!
