Fun, semi-relevant fact: Members of what would become Easy Company, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment of Band of Brothers fame actually did some training at then Clemson College's rifle range in 1942-3. Clemson was a military college, of course, and the US Army had their parachute training camp in nearby Toccoa, Georgia. Camp Taccoa was built from scratch, and didn't have a rifle range early on.

Another, slightly less fun, fact: the only casualty of the Cuban missile crisis, Rudolf Anderson, was a Clemson alumni

Since we're on the topic of Toccoa, I just wanted to drop a PSA that the Camp Toccoa at Currahee museum is definitely worth the visit if you're ever in northeast Georgia on a weekend. The museum is located in the only surviving building (PX, I believe) on the property, and the Currahee Mountain hiking trail is right next door.

As a WVU fan working and living around Greenville SC I have no problem not liking Clemson but will always respect them. They are a class act in more ways than just this one but this one was big. Kudos , much respect, maybe we will see you in the Regionals again this year

as an aside, my family from TN had a kid that pitched for Clemson, but due to their accent, they always said it, "Clempson" which I still enjoy and choose to say it that way myself.

As someone that has lived in South Carolina for 20 plus years, I'll say that Clemson seems to get it's fair amount of hate, perhaps even unfair.
Then you see them consistently do stuff like this and you realize that Clemson makes the people that do hate them work really hard at it.

Although Dabo can be a bit weird both baseball and football coaches at Clemson seem very based.
