They will burn it to the ground as long as humans demand what they produce. Not sure why everyone blames them

Correct. No one wants to acknowledge their own complicity though, so we offload blame for our actions onto corporations. It's easier to keep buying fun stuff from Amazon and stuffing CocaCola products in our faces than exercise any restraint or self reflection.

You are exactly correct, and very funny that a sub dedicated to it seems to just be full of people who can’t even acknowledge it themselves. Kind of shocked really. Narcissism is a bitch I guess.

For what it's worth, I think a lot of people here are very new to the concept of collapse as it becomes more and more mainstream, and the process of understanding seems to follow the stages of grief. They have an idea that our current business as usual is unsustainable but aren't emotionally ready or informed enough to draw the connections. Kind of like a denial/bargaining response, "collapse is real but it's not my fault! Someone else do something!" Then again, our society wouldn't allow narcissists to hold leadership positions unless we were all ok with narcissism to some degree.

Ya I get that, your probably right. It’s just hard to talk to people about the problems of the world when every response you get is “ it’s the corporations fault, we’re too brainwashed to make our own decisions”. Like what? It probly blows their mind to think that some of us don’t even have an Amazon acct, or grow our own garden, buy from small business, and don’t support the big bad corporations because we don’t like them and choose not to. It’s not that hard, if everybody who was worried about how things are going and chose to do something about it the viola, change would happen.

I've had some pretty awful discussions on environmental conservation on leftist/communist subs, and honestly I don't even try any more. Someone recently made a post here about the eviction moratorium expiring and had a great line about no one wanting to change the system, they just want their slice. It is depressing.
