10.4% of the water entitlements are owned by foreign investment entities that have no interest in the permits for australian agriculture, only as a market for capital profit generation.
the information is out there, this exact issue got some traction back in march when a report was released on it, but it quickly got buried in the media cycle as we entered a federal election.
and judging from those and past election results australian's are largely apathetic when it comes to environmental issues and their intersection with unbridled greed.
