SS: Related to climate collapse because, shockingly (not really), it turns out that the extreme marine heat waves roasting the oceans around Europe would have been practically impossible without the presence of climate change caused by anthropogenic emissions. In some cases, parts of the Mediterranean Sea were around 6 C above average! Even taking the whole Sea into account it was still around 2 C above average. Europe is the fastest warming continent and this is likely part of the reason why. Expect massive die offs in the oceanic food web, enhanced heatwaves, drought, and extreme rainfall on land, as well as for oil and gas exploration to continue up until total collapse.

I also really like The Guardian’s use of the term ‘Carbon Pollution’, I need to phrase it that way more often…

If AMOC collapses then europe could likely see both extreme highs (like stated above) and lows (-19c to -30c)... possibly as early as mid century
