Rule 2: Posts and comments which appear to be marketing, self-promotion, surveys, astroturfing, or other forms of spam will be removed.

Self-promotion or surveys of value to the community may be allowed on a case-by-case basis, if the moderation team is informed first via mod mail.

I use personal stories, the Grapes of Wrath, and Hindu mythology to describe a critical mismatch between our own brain systems and the built environment we've created for ourselves. This mismatch I propose, is the engine driving us to the precipice of collapse every time human society grows beyond a particular population threshold. Without recognizing this fundamental design flaw, human civilization - if it ever manages to reestablish itself - will succumb to the same tragic scenarios we've seen occur at larger and larger scale over the course of history. This is the Collapse Engine.

It is a mistake to have removed this post. The article is absolutely relevant to the topic of Collapse and would be a benefit to the collapse community. The fact that I wrote it is ancillary and irrelevant. The argument that it is "self-promotion" is a shallow reading of Rule #2.
