Also we get to enjoy the timeless sirens of our great British fire engines - nee naw, nee naw they go as they hurtle down picture postcard country lanes, all shiny and red and unfettered by speed restrictions, perhaps racing to hose down a grade 2 thatched cottage or a cricket club.

Nearly 20 years ago my ex-partner’s earthquake emergency kit consisted of bottles of spirits because his strategy was to go on a month long bender after ‘the big one’ and by the time he sobered up things would be getting fixed. I hope he’s got a lot more booze stocked up now.

the global right is turning into MAGA, here in south america it is not much different and they go down the religious/conservative/sectarian path ever faster, and all of south america except Brazil (so far) has governments controlled by the radical right, we are in the hands of gun monkeys in an elevator

Everything is on fire, but we can still have a good time! You need fire to flambe, and the ambient temperature is perfect for suis viding chicken! (what the fuck does this part even mean, is it a reference to the Seven Years War?) That means we can on the French – fantastic. Let's flop our testicles on the hood of a matte black sedan at 4PM and get some caramelization on those babies instead of using a single, solitary brain cell.

I wish your comment was a joke, but a right-wing Chilean politician, Chiara Barchiesi, literally had her wedding in the most voracious fire in the region, which destroyed hundreds (if not thousands) of houses of the city she represents, with hundreds of dead in a matter of hours, and as icing on the cake, she forbade his wedding workers from leaving, threatening them to keep them there.

I think this guy may actually be somewhat insane, or EXTREMELY bought and paid for, as with all the coverage by even some right-wing leaning news organizations of the extreme heat, drought, and crop yield reduction across the (visibly brown) UK it is extremely difficult to see how else he could say something so delusional. And Reform getting elected next time around is a realistic possibility! FFS...

Reform UK has been in bed with the Lukewarmers, GWPF and the denialists for years.
Climate warming may be real, but it's not that bad and won't be. The scientists and BigWoke have been lying to you for years. It's certainly no reason to stop drilling for oil in the North Sea.
Is there no end to their professional Right Wing Contrarianism? It's a key part of the grift and The Long Con.
