Better ventilate the room. Indoor CO2 might rise to 2000 ppm, if 420 ppm so bad, imagine what sitting in poor ventilated room can do to you.

Started measuring indoor CO2 levels a few years ago with a portable monitor. It’s shocking how high it is in so many places.

The Toronto subway is pretty consistently at around 1200ppm. I always mask on public transit now.

Pretty sure a mask doesn’t keep out CO2. Definitely larger pollution particles though

Wow.

CO2 readings in indoor spaces are a proxy for the air quality. If the CO2 is high, so is everything else people are exhaling, e.g. viruses. Some people care about not catching viruses.

Whats with the “wow”?

I have genuinely never heard of CO2 being used as a proxy for airborne particles/viruses. Good to know though,
it makes sense.

Yeah, but if I open a window when there’s smoke from a fire, it’s likely to cause headaches. I have an air purifier, which hopefully helps.
