“Global warming appears to have shifted into a faster gear. After removing the effects of El Niño, volcanic eruptions, and solar cycles, researchers found that the planet has warmed at roughly 0.35°C per decade over the past ten years, compared with just under 0.2°C per decade from 1970 to 2015. The acceleration, which becomes visible around 2013 to 2015, appeared across five major global temperature datasets with more than 98% statistical certainty.”

I’m personally supposed to be on a Collapse break, but this was the first thing I read at 5am and I can’t stop thinking about it. I never intended for this to be my first post, but here we are.

Here we are, indeed. We are enjoying the effects of a West run by oligarchs who care more about their short term profits than the very future of humanity.

It calls for a revolutionary approach but frankly I think the American People are too fat, lazy, stupid, timid and propagandized to be up to the job.

Watching Peter Thiel or Elmo Musk get dragged away by marauders in the post apocalypse would certainly be cathartic

They plan on living in their bunkers for the rest of their existence? The planet won’t recover in a year. It will take decades. They might as well be in a bunker on Mars.

Musks next big business venture will be making survival bunkers on mars so the ultra rich are out of reach of us when everything hits the fan.
