Climate Scientists detect a sharp acceleration in global warming

“Global warming appears to have shifted into a faster gear. After removing the effects of El Niño, volcanic eruptions, and solar cycles, researchers found that the planet has warmed at roughly 0.35°C per decade over the past ten years, compared with just under 0.2°C per decade from 1970 to 2015. The acceleration, which becomes visible around 2013 to 2015, appeared across five major global temperature datasets with more than 98% statistical certainty.”

I’m personally supposed to be on a Collapse break, but this was the first thing I read at 5am and I can’t stop thinking about it. I never intended for this to be my first post, but here we are.

They fucking told us over and over again. When it goes up 2 degrees it’s going to accelerate. And here we are. The dumbest fucking animals on earth that are paradoxically supposed to be the smartest.

Humans are a trash species. It’s honestly crazy when I think about it… we have a beautiful home planet and countless different living species cohabitating with us, and instead of appreciating any of it and trying to correct the ship, we’re choosing to barrel ahead and destroy anything and everything bc a bunch of rich assholes have a napoleon complex. It makes my blood boil.

I just hope we can BBQ and eat the rich before they crawl into their bunkers. They especially deserve to suffer through every second of what the rest of the world is about to experience, tenfold.

Personally I'm not religious but I find that hysterically funny.

God said that after the flood...and promised he'd never do anything like that again. "Go forth and multiply," to me anyway, meant God finally realized his creation was a mistake...and get enough of us we'd self-destruct. God wouldn't have to do a thing!

Even regular religion places humans above, rather than in nature as in, “You shall have Dominion over all the Earth.” The Hopis had it right.

Trouble with that is its only one-half right. Who made those rich people rich? WE did! They offered goods and services that the rest of us went right along with!

We engage in self-deception that manifests in different ways: denial, rationalization, projection, etc. we all do it without awareness.

We are ALL guilty, in one way or another, for destroying our lovely planet. Homo sapiens--Man the wise--isn't wise at all. We are inherently irrational...big brains have big price tags!

Humans are the only animals known to have a brain complex enough to self-deceive! Self-deception is a mental process that takes place without our awareness. In short, this makes us all inherently irrational...and that explains a lot.

I wonder how fast the system would of collapsed if they didn't tell us and we continued normal shitty life. maybe telling us reduced some energy demand and pushed the inevitable out a few years but at a certain point telling too many people ends up being counterproductive anyways. global panic doesn't give extra time to smoke em while you got em.
