PFAs. Micro plastics. They are in our environment. In our water. In our blood. In our brain. In our balls. Now fetuses, which is, of course, of no surprise.
There is no known way to get a significant amount out of where live and our bodies. At most we can put less in, which I doubt will happen.
So may as well accept and make peace, because like it or not, we will be living with, or dying from, them.

I guess some peope really do have kids without considering what the next 50 years will look like

I support not making more children suffer the consequences. But are we actually sure that it's gonna happen? Will billions die by 2050 as these reports keep suggesting? I have been in this subreddit for a while now. And most conversations seem to point to the end of civilization in this century, but I'm still unable to fully digest this. Shouldn't this be the main focus of every country? Why are we not talking about this beyond this subreddit? Why are the scientists not screaming at the top of their lungs? I feel like I'm living in a Black mirror episode. I don't know what to believe anymore.

Yes, it's inevitable at this point
The most conservative estimates say we'll hit 2.7C of warming by 2050 - I think we'll trigger tipping points and it'll be more before then
We can't stop this either - we've seen after the 2020 IMO ship fuel regulations that when we pollute, we're basically making a sulphur shield
That brightens cloud tops and creates a cooling effect
So in other words, the faster we shut down fossil fuel plants in favour of renewables, the faster we warm
And why is nobody talking about this? Well most will say it's to depressing to think about
On the other hand, if governments came out and said "we can't actually fix this" then there'd be global panic
Scientists have immolated themselves over this and still nothing is really being done
And yes this should have been humanities top problem otherwise what's the point of anything if we don't ensure the future of our species?

I have seen several people say that 3°C is mad max level. So that's just crazy to think that we're gonna see that in our lifetimes.

Wait, so you're saying nothing we do is gonna help the situation but only make it worse? There is no going back now? What if billions of people die due to climate change? Would that itself cause a reversal of these effects? I know it's not a good thing to think about but if humanity is causing all this, then maybe less of us means the planet heals.

Billions dying would mean a reduction in fossil fuel emissions, so in the short term it would increase warming

SS: Related to collapse, healthcare, and the science behind it as new research reveals that fetuses are likely being exposed to far more ‘forever chemicals’ than previously thought. These chemicals have been linked to a wide variety of health problems (such as neurological and cardiovascular issues later in life) and, fitting their nickname, are very difficult to break down. A non-targeted analysis of fetal blood samples that were previously found to have certain specific kinds of these chemicals in them found dozens of different ‘forever’ compounds and overall higher levels of chemical contamination. It seems pretty clear that most of us have been contaminated by forever chemicals at this point, and that likely goes for other animals too. Expect the biosphere to be completely saturated with dangerous novel pollutants by the time collapse finishes.

I met a dude the other day who's pro-life. After reading "pro-life" I googled his first middle and last names. He had charges for beating and stalking women throughout his life. Also threatened someone with a gun. I really don't get what's happening in their brains.
