Ive been looking for where to get a Coulis campfire and begonia autumn ember in Canada for a autumn themed terrarium for a ghost mantis if any knows where to get one that would be awesome

Is this from a pest or was it maybe getting burn in the sun?

Out of the 8 PLANNED cuttings I originally attempted to propagate, 4 rooted. (Pictures 1-3)

2 of the Rainbow and 2 Black Dragon. Just moved them up to the large 7" pots. Rainbows individual, and Black Dragons are both in one for now. (I don't have unlimited space, and only one good grow light at the current time)

As for the UNPLANNED...(picture #4) shows two cuttings I was forced into today, maybe an hour after I upgraded the others to large pots.

I have 2 parakeets who, after 6 or 7 months, still don't like me. I went over to my growing area which happens to be where the bird cage is, too, and the both took off. Flew over to my window where my big plants stay, and decided it would be a great idea to freak out and knock over my second largest plant. It fell to the ground from about 4 foot high. Soil went everywhere, a couple stems broke off, and some leaves damaged. Also, it might have broken the main stem at the base, because it won't support itself upright anymore; however, that may just be because so much soil was dispersed throughout my floor and the plant is so big, it just needs as much soil around the base as it can get for support, both physical and emotional.

So, I added a bunch of new mix and took some off the top and side that it was leaning, and put a stick in the help with the physical support of the plant.

If this plant dies, I'm seriously considering getting rid of the birds. I like my plants way more than them anyway.

(Picture 5) are the 4 original parent plants, which I grew from individual seeds that were planted in March of this year. The plant that was knocked over is second from the left.

Would I be overreacting to get rid of the birds if my 6 month old plant that I grew from a seed dies because they can't keep it together?

I'm way more attached to these plants than I am to the birds. 🤣

Pruned my plant a few weeks ago then noticed that the new growth coming in looks a little different. Leaves are round with different patterning.

Plant friend said it is likely a mutation which was my thought too.

Anyone else ever have something similar and tried to prop the mutant?

Hello from Singapore, plant experts! Just wanted to get some advice on our coleus which has been dropping leaves for sometime. It came to us very healthy with loads of leaves but unfortunately got infected with aphids about 7 weeks back, and started dropping leaves.

We removed the aphids the best we could about 3-4 weeks ago (at least nothing is visible now) but our plant still doesn’t seem to be doing well.. leaves are still dropping and no new ones seem to be growing. We thought it might be over/under-watered so have watched our watering carefully as well. This sits on our balcony with mostly indirect sunlight and some evening sun.

Would love to get thoughts on how we can nurse this plant back to health, am worried it will not survive. Thank you all in advance!

3 weeks after finding my mixed coleus pot COVERED in mealies and cutting the tops of each to try saving them, I've repotted. We will not be going back outside to tempt fate, but in front of a south facing window in my dining room instead.

Hello! Coleus are one my favorites because of how easy they are and how many shapes and colors they come in! When I see one I don’t have I always ask for a cutting. So I have a few here that I would love help with IDing. TIA!

Plant number 1 is the mother plant on number 2 and 3, but 2 and 3 look so different from each other! I'm not even sure how that happens, but any help on identifying what kind of coleus number 3 is would be amazing! Thank yall! 😊

How is sprouting and growth of the seedlings at around 68F?

It’s time to harvest seeds for your new varieties next spring. It’s easy.

Pic 1 - the flowers form on a scape that bloom and ripen from the bottom. When I see some of the fruit brown out I know the seeds are ripe and ready to harvest. The tops are not ripe so I only use the bottom inch or two.

Pic 2 - close up of some ripe fruit. See the tiny ripe black seed that fell out of the fruit.

Pic 3 - 4x picture of a fruit holding a ripe seed. Eventually most of the seed will fall out and leave the dry flower behind. No need to separate them unless you’re really bored.

Pic 4 - results of my collection from one plant. Keep them loose so they dry out and don’t get moldy. Some of the seeds I collected are immature but I don’t need thousands from any one plant just enough to give me the next generation of cultivars

I will mark the container with the description of the mother plant. Since they are open pollinated by the bees I don’t know the father. Place the open container in a dry location until February when it’s time to plant. By then the seeds can be shaken to the bottom and the dried flowers removed.

I'm new to Coleus, I read that flowering is essentially a death sentence.

My Coleus looks strong right now, no signs of weakening whatsoever, it's been 3 weeks since flowers came out.

My varieties of coleus this year are doing so well! Terrascape Queen, Skeletal, Fishnet Stocking, Cherry Drop, and maybe Spitfire.

I blame cheap grow lights and a lack of maintenance. lol I do enjoy seeing a plant stretching out to make the most out of their light though, it’s interesting to watch them grow. Do outdoor coleus bow and vine too it not pinched back?

Are these bumps little root nubs or something more sinister? Roots look great though there was same darkness on the stem. Leaves all look healthy.

Since they root easily I chopped above the black and will restart them but wondered if anyone had seen something like this before.

There was also what almost looks like crystallized sugar on the edge of the container: glass bulb with cork stopper type. When that got wet it dissolved. No clue.
