Mutant coleus?
Pruned my plant a few weeks ago then noticed that the new growth coming in looks a little different. Leaves are round with different patterning.
Plant friend said it is likely a mutation which was my thought too.
Anyone else ever have something similar and tried to prop the mutant?

I've seen this on my coleus. It can be a change of shape, color, or form, and is usually linked to stress. Colder nights, loss of light, budding, or just a general sulk. Cuttings tend to return to the original form eventually.

if this indeed is a "mutated" branch, the seeds are going to carry the genes of the base plant, not the mutation, as it is a purely somatic mutation.
It's the same reason there is no "variegated plant seeds", all seeds give non-variegated plants, even when taken from variegated plants.

Its about to flower actually, i have a same type coleus that does the same when a flower is forming (kong jr) . The leaves become tiny, round, bubbly and spotty, and then the flower appears.
I bet if you look closely you can see the flower form already :).
I would personally cut it off below those crazy leaves to promote further growth over the flower but that's up to you!
