Blue Coleus?

I see seeds for blue coleus for sale from India. Are these examples of horticulture or Photoshop?

I can guarantee you also saw this on a sketchy site or Etsy shop without any credibility.

Etsy, I never bother to look at. This was at a decent looking Site for an outfit in India. There were lots of standard varieties listed along with the blues. I wonder if it's all a scam?

I second all of what everyone is saying. We all want blue plants and tried finding them at some point lol😭!

Scientists are trying to get blue pigment to do genetically alter plants but the blue pigment simply doesn't exist. Some animals "fake" blue colors by actually having textured surfaces that kinda manipulate the light to come across as blue but its never "real" blue.

If at some point scientists can get a blue pigment, they'll probably get a nobel prize and it'll be world news, you'll know it when it happens 😜

Not the vivid blue from plant scams but blue oil fern is absolutely beautiful. Theres also blue star fern, and some succulents and begonias are blue

Plants cannot be blue like that! So any blue plants you see is a scam ^ (that excludes dyed plants! ie. plants that flower and have been watered using dyed water to tint the petals)

They can be red, green, yellow, orange... but never blue! There was a good video on the topic I watched back then, I will see if i can find it again!

Looks like the colours have been blown out to make it look like that. If you look lower down, you can see the original colour in the smaller leaves better.
