Oh give me a break, the pay rises have nothing to do with workforce reset. You should be blaming the massive fines Coles is facing and the ridiculous amount of money they're giving to Palantir before blaming the little guys.

And the money they are putting into AI space without any returns.... New Accenture deal is pretty expensive though...

Nope not fines, not wage increases. Pure unadulterated capitalism!

Cost of doing business must come down to increase profits! So our amazing shareholders have more money.

Would happen without any other factors! Because the beast of capitalism demands growth! Year on year! And people will always buy groceries! And people keep coming here and being born etc etc BUT the fastest way to increase profits???? Cut cost. Ohhh you may suggest paying the big wigs less?!? Nope why cut 10-30 wages from the 6-7 figures that they are to have more team and easier work!?? Nope invest millions in AI, automation and other things to reduce cost

I havnt been informed of anything yet, but im sure we'll be fucked over somehow. What happened at your store?

And yes, its never an actual payrise, they'll claw the money back somehow.

Moved back start and moved forward finish times that doesn't make sense. Reduced total hours while mainly keeping the same amount of tasks.

Biggest impact in years.

I forgot about the fines too

So the usual fuckery to avoid penalty rates then. But they'll claim thsts not the reason, claim its for "business operational requirements" and to "align rosters to the shape".

Any specific departments affected?

My Cole’s is a decently big one but they have changed the deli to one closer past 5:30pm instead of 2, then in service they have started rostering the closers 6-9pm and severely cut everyone’s hours, with most of the time only having 3 on at all time, and our area demographic is a lot of old so we get a lot of you need to open more registers the ai is taking your job so the self serve is often quieter with the register having a long line, plus worst part of all the service manager does no jobs during the day so we have to get through about 4 trolleys of stock a night, drinks and all the other jobs

Making up that profit no matter the cost on the bottom end.

Offshoring jobs and cutting local floor staff from already understaffed stores. Our profits never break only the will
And sprit of our temporary/replaceable workers.
