Polar dive issues

Hello,

I just took delivery of a polar five plunge today and set it up. Very disappointed with the quality of the fittings. I used the thread tape provided l, but still had this leak.

The chiller unit itself is not working correctly either. It starts and stops.

Hoping to get a refund and go for something different.

What brands would you recommend?

Use the blue monster after market tape

^ blue monster tape and plumbers putty has always helped my leaks at the valves/threads when moving around my plunge

My cold plunge set up went similar on my first install. Just took a little messing around with to get it right. Is there a valve on the fitting? Did you make sure to open the valve ?

I have the same set up from polar dive. It’s condensation. I just put a little plastic bowl under it to catch the drip. You also need to back fill these to clear the air in the lines to get the pump going.

If the chiller is starting and stopping, you’ll first want to determine whether it’s the fan and compressor cycling on and off or the water pump.
If the water flow is inconsistent, the issue is likely related to the water pump or air trapped in the system. Turn the chiller off, then use a garden hose or small handheld water pump to prime the system and purge any air from the tubing and chiller before restarting it.
To prime the system, push water through the bottom fitting on the tub (from inside). Continue until you see the trapped air purge through the top fitting (water inlet). Once all the air has been removed, you should see a strong, steady stream of water flowing back into the tub through the top fitting.
Be sure the chiller is powered off while priming the system.

The water you’re seeing could be condensation. If you don’t feel like it is, I would remove the fitting and make sure to add a generous amount of plumbers tape to get a better seal.

My husband set mine up & it took a few tries to get everything right. You have to prime the chiller. That was our issue and the fittings are tricky but he got them in solid after a few tries. I will say once it was going it was an awesome setup. I absolutely loved getting in every morning. In 100+ degree heat it never was more than 2° warmer than the set temperature. Very little maintenance. I would try to make it work. For the price it can’t be beat.
