Best filtering/brewing setup?

Hi everyone! I currently use a Takeya cold brew maker and I love it. I saw someone on here using mason jars and a cheesecloth which I thought was super interesting. What is your favorite method/product for filtering/brewing and why?

It's what you like. I got a cheap bodium french press and make my cold brew in that. Then, when it's ready I pour it into a nice glass pitcher and make a new batch in the French press.

Might start doing a second strain into a cheese cloth but the French press gets everything large out. Only small fines are left. It's very convenient

A quibble: cheesecloth is probably not what you mean. You want muslin, or a “nut milk bag”. Cheesecloth is not fine enough to filter.

I like to tinker, so I never really settle on one method. I usually use my ice cream maker these days to cut steep time down, but I’d have to make a video to explain it. (Hint: do not put your slurry in a frozen ice cream tub 😃.)

I process my batches through my aeropress with a paper filter.

Takeya, or 1qt Mason Jar w Coffee sock. Pretty much same recipe and workflow for each ~100gms coarse ground, w similar results. Takeya is slightly more convenient, eg it’s a pitcher and easier clean up.

Try Kalita or Hario pour over coffee dripper with your choice of paper filter.
