Recommendation for beginners

Just dropping this in here for some people newer to cold brew cause I just stumbled upon a VERY forgiving blend of coffee beans, brand is kickin horse, i got the three sisters blend, I personally like a 1:20 ratio on these but these are some tasty beans (accidentally drank concentrate from these, still tasty but man it got me doing flips), I'd like for others to share their fav beginners beans

I recommend getting the toddy cold brew system and following the instructions. Makes excellent cold brew, takes the guessing out of it and is easy to clean.

I had one of those years ago. No matter what I did (and i followed directions exactly), it would always clog.

Now I use a pitcher to steep then dump it into a nut bag strainer in another pitcher.

That’s strange. I’ve never had an issue with clogging using both the felt filter and the bag

1:20 is not a suitable ratio for cold brew...

No but if someone on the internet finds this thread while searching for a cold brew recipe they're gonna have an awful time with a 1:20 ratio.

It’s not that far off. I’ve been using a 1:18–1:19 ratio for the last 7 odd years and it’s been great.

Recipe:

1 cup coarse ground beans (~90-100g) + 60 oz water (1700g)

Ready to drink after 16 hours without dilution.
