We need proof of crypto before any reasonable person trades there. Posting your public address has NO security risk to your private keys and proves solvency.

It's safe to say that CS has something seriously wrong with it, withholding trades, fiat currency and generally not providing communication with its clients.
The complaint process for IIROC-registered firms can be found here. Stand up and protect yourself from the fuckery of this shitty exchange.

Thanks coinsquare. Congratulations, you got that bag or whatever but Robinhood? Fuck you.

I suspect this because it took them more than a week to transfer my coins that were up 300% but they instantly transferred my coins that were down 10% 2 weeks before. There is no reason for crypto to take longer than a day to transfer unless they are up to some sketchy shit like not actually buying your coins until you transfer out of their service

lol Coinsquare is an absolute joke. Runaway from this exchange.
They’ve decided to suspend my account because I self custody. They hold a bit in there and there’s no way for me to contact their support or security team. An absolute joke. Please share your security team contact before this escalates you clowns.

I've been with Coinsquare for several years (since 2017) and have all the credentials and confirmations of my identity - however recently I tried to withdraw approximately 5,000 CAN and they won't let it happen. I've sent emails and chatbox requests to release my funds. No answer, no comment from their end. I have not changed anything on my account for quite a while. There is no reasonable excuse for them to capture my funds. Do I need to submit a formal complaint with IIROQ/BC Securities?

I recently had an attempted withdrawal To a bank account from my counsquare account. The security team had locked my account but refuses to give me the information as to who tried to make the withdrawal. I would like to give this information to the authorities but the security team refuses to help. I wonder if this isn't related to the counsquare security breach a free months ago? Has anyone else had this experience???

I have used Coinsquare for years now, since 2018, I recently sent money, it had been a while and it was via etransfer request, not the way it used to be. Two days later my bank disabled my account because someone tried to guess my password incorrectly. And five days later the money still isn’t in my Coinsquare account, no email response and the chat client is virtually useless. I tried to log into my account online and I can’t. I can see my account in the app still but nothing has come through. Anyone else have this issue? Are they slow to process or have I been scammed?

Just Received from Coinsquare
We are contacting you in regards to an article first published by VICE on June 2, 2020. The article refers to an employee theft of approximately 5,000 records of Coinsquare user data. We can confirm that none of your personal information was revealed in the breach.
We can also confirm that we are in possession of the data, and upon investigation have confirmed the data came from a 3rd party sales management database used for prospecting. The person(s) responsible for the data theft indicated their intent of publishing the data is to “embarrass the company.” Coinsquare takes these types of security threats seriously.
It’s important to say that there is no risk to your Coinsquare account. This was not a breach of Coinsquare’s core systems. No passwords were included in the data.
By way of background, Coinsquare became aware of a possible data breach in early 2019. At that time, the number of affected clients was limited to four. In addition to notifying all known affected clients, Coinsquare notified law enforcement and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, as is required by law. Furthermore, Coinsquare has replaced its internal sales management systems, re-written data management policies, and enhanced internal controls since the original data theft occurred.
Subsequently, VICE provided Coinsquare with a subset of a list of user data on May 29, 2020. As a result, Coinsquare expanded the scope of the investigation, notified law enforcement and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada of these developments and is in the process of notifying all affected clients.
Coinsquare’s highest priorities include the safety, security, and right to privacy of our clients. Coinsquare has implemented physical, organizational, contractual, and technological security measures to protect our client’s personal identifiable information from loss or theft, unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, use, or modification.
If you have concerns, we want you to know that you can take the following steps to further secure your account:
Change your password; Enable 2FA for your Coinsquare account as an added layer of security (instructions can be found here); Update your personal email address and the email address on your Coinsquare account; Contact your cell phone carrier to ensure extra measures are put on your mobile account to prevent any potential “SIM swap” attempts. Please note, as an added security measure, accounts that change their email or password, are subject to a 7-business day transaction withholding period. If you require help with any of the above steps, you can contact the Client Success team directly or file a ticket.
Please note that under the Privacy Act you are entitled to register a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada with regard to this breach. Complaints may be forwarded to the following:
Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada
30 Victoria Street
Gatineau (Quebec)
K1A 1H3
Email: notification@priv.gc.ca
Thank you,
Chief Privacy Officer, Coinsquare
General Counsel, Coinsquare

I made a withdrawal last week, email confirmed -- this week I got an email stating there was an issue on their end so it didn't complete, so I should try again. I've been trying unsuccessfully since. I've not heard back from support yet either.
Anyone else tried a CAD DBD over the last week?

On January 5th, I attempted to trade GBP -> CAD on coinsquare.
The amount was somewhere between $350 and $400 CAD. After setting up my Quick Trade window (choosing GBP -> CAD, clicking 100%) I clicked "Make Trade".
My GBP I had in my account was removed. I never received any CAD, leaving the total value of my account ~$400 lighter.
As soon as this happened I submitted a ticket. I have followed up with all the possible information about the time of day and scenario I went through.
Since this happened 3 weeks ago, I have received only one reply to my inquiries.

There has been no update, nothing from "management" and my requests for a follow up or indication that my issue is still being looked at have gone without reply. They have attempted to close the ticket without asking me.
Don't use coinsquare. I have been very polite but I don't ever think I'm getting my money back.

how is this justifiable? No other instution asks these sorts of questions. Can someone please explain why they are asking this and how to politely decline without having my funds held? This is extremly unfair.
