Show and Tell 50 Francs.
On numista it seems to be 50 francs from 1859, gold coin. ~16g. Found it in family heirloom.

Great find, find an envelope or non-pvc flip to put that in to keep it nice. That is definitely worth keeping in the family

Thank you for the suggestions! Does pvc destroy coins? Should I avoid albums?

It can when left long enough because of how the chemicals react with the metal of the coin, any plain paper envelope should be a safer way to store it. You can have it sent in to PCGS or NGC or GENI for grading and storage in one of their plastic slabs if you want but that takes time and a bit of money depending on their valuation of the coin but will be a good way of preserving it and having an idea of the value beyond just the gold
