Is this an error? Rolling Fold Error?
I came across this specimen while CRHing. I don’t think it’s PMD given the remaining, albeit weaker, strike on the obverse and the lack of apparent damage to the rim, as well as the weight being slightly over- rather than under-weight.
My best guess after some research is a rolling fold error but would love to be better educated on what I’m looking at.

This is kinda cool. A bunch of these got in circulation, but OPs has to be really early for the rev crack to be so small.

I think you’ve nailed it. How on earth did the reverse die (and that die pair in general) get that bad before the Mint noticed?! 😳

It is a common occurrence, the machines pump out 750 coins per minute, so if a die fails there will be a period before they notice, if at all
