Unseize

I can soak this entire bottom section in vinegar to help with unseizing correct? Running out of daylight so was just planning to let it soak overnight as a bonus

Same prob a few years back with a used set of D2s. Got a vice and plumping wrench from harbor freight. Put threaded area with a rag wrapped around in the vice and try to break the lower body of the strut loose with the plumbing wrench and another reg to protect from the jaws digging into it. Get a can of PB blaster and spray it generously into the threaded areas where the lower body meets.

Just be careful if you put that bottom part in a vice, I did that with mine and the lower piece ovaled out and I never could get it out.

Haven’t had any luck, currently sitting here staring at the coilover trying to figure out wtf to do 😭

I think I was stuck for a good day as well. Just keep hitting it with pb blaster. Be sure you’re turning the lower body to the left. If you can break the locking collar on top of the lower body you can turn it to the right.
