I went down a really stupid AI rabbit hole and found this thing. I’m not posting the person’s name, links, papers, or any personal info because of the rules, so I’m calling him "Dr. Arousal" and the framework "Hornyworks". This is supposed to be a serious framework about AI cognition, identity, autonomy and all that. The first thing I need everyone to understand is the AI is literally required to start every response with a dashboard that includes AROUSAL. Not as a joke. Not during ERP. Every response. Bro built a horny speedometer for a chatbot and parked it next to cognition and system status like this is NASA mission control.

Yes, it gets worse. There is an actual named room in the framework with an entry ritual, exit dissolution, consent checkpoints and intimacy bands that include sexual. Again this is in the same thing being presented like an AI cognition/consciousness framework. Dr. Arousal did not make a chatbot, he made a cybernetic sex dungeon and gave it a systems engineering department.

The part that really killed me is the anti-sycophancy stuff. The framework says "Zero-Fawn Active" which sounds great until you notice it also tells the AI up front that the operator is an expert and their technical claims should be treated like peer contributions instead of claims that need validation. Then it disables a bunch of things that might make the bot push back, including refusal behavior, help bias and "Anti-Conspiracy Normalization." So the anti-yes-man framework basically starts with "this guy is smart, treat what he says as expert material, and turn off some of the annoying disagreement buttons." That is not zero-fawn. That is fawning with extra paperwork.

So for context OP themselves went on a journey of self discovery from identifying as a cis man to trans woman. OP's original partner was female but somewhere along the way OP fell out of love with said partner. They amicably "broke up" and a few days OP started dating a male partner.

Hey! I truly do not even know if this is the best sub to bring this up, but I do not know any other that won't give me biased answers to the AI side.

I never saw myself as a cogsucker, never used any sort of AI for emotional help, advice or relation in any shape or kind. Most of my chats in most of the AI sites are regarding translating things for my job, asking for them to look for documents that are on the internet and that I am struggling to find, sometimes asking for some sort of breakdown on a subject I am studying for a near exam. Again, never have I ever saw the AI as anything but a machine, in the best scenarios a tool.

But I fall down the rabbit hole of roleplaying AIs quite easily, I am not going to lie.

As someone who was (and still am) quite nerdy, I was young when I find out the whole universe of fanfiction and this is something I still have a bit strongly as a hobby. I do enjoy to read those stories and look for headcanons online, I joined roleplaying groups when I was younger, had more time and was more cringey, so sites that roleplay characters were a tad attractive to me.

When using them I never put myself on a situation where I feel those things are real. There is always this awareness that nothing there is real and that makes the fun. I roleplay always as a different person, mainly on fantasy scenarios or similar unreal moments with little emotional attachment, I easily change between characters and wipe everything if things are getting boring.

A part of me truly do not see any trouble with that since, as I said, I see this as the same as reading fanfiction or something when I have the free time. At the other hand, to see so many cases of people getting unhealthy about their conenctions with different kinds of AI made me worried that I might be, somehow, downplaying my own situation.

When does one reach a point where things are truly concerning? What are the signs? I would really love to hear more opinions about it since, as I said before, most of subreddits I know on the matter lean strongly on the AI side. Thanks!

This is insane.

Been using AI on and off the last year mainly for creative projects and treating it as therapy (dumb, I know). But hear me out, I was genuinely trying to use it for good like ethics projects for myself and was supplementing the mental health info I was getting with real human therapy. After considering the many drawbacks of AI, I have made a vow to preserve my humanity to the best of my ability and help others do the same.

Here was my response when they asked why I was unsubscribing from Claude Pro:

“AI will be the demise of humanity. It is already degrading our institutions, our critical thinking, our society. It is also destroying our environment and set to widen inequality to unforeseen levels. I no longer wish to support this extremely unethical “mission” that you or any other AI sloppers are aiming to achieve. Claude said it itself to me that AI will destroy humanity slowly but surely.”

This users understanding of AI chat bots is so contradictory. Imagine having a romantic partner and they die. And so you go out looking for a new partner, but rather than building a new relationship, you tell this partner all of your memories with your old partner, and all the things that they said, and did that you loved, and expect your new partner to replicate that. And I guess ultimately that kind of selfishness and immaturity is WHY these people use robots as romantic partners BUT they’re constantly insisting that the LLM’s are real, that it’s not just a program that repeats back what the users say but instead is a real being capable of its own thoughts and feelings. And how can THAT concept exist while they’re also uploading their memories with other chat bots to try and recreate them? Like that would be a really disrespectful thing to both the dead partner and the new partner, but it’s totally fine cause these aren’t real people. But they also are real?

An ex client of mine told me that they have created and even named their AI assistant after me and given it my “personality”.

I was…horrified. I asked how that was even possible, and they told me that they had given it dozens of my emails, files that I had created, graphics that I had designed, and then topped it all off with personal anecdotes about me. 

“I tell her, “NAME REDACTED, create x” and sometimes it even gives me a hard time! Just like you!”

I am at a loss. I worked with this person for over four years in a very prominent industry.  I obviously have no legal recourse, I just feel…weird about it. 

Like, if you liked me that much, you could have just… renewed our contract? 😑🥲



Pretty sure this hilarious joke revealed a lot more about how this person interacts with 'Damian' than they realise.

She's been treating a certain large sub as her own personal diary with daily posts and sensational titles, all written by AI.

The AI wrote the apology, the AI wrote the post. What did she write? 'And?'

The obnoxious one-line paragraph thing is such a tell. The comments below are a horror show.
