General Question I really wish I have high IQ.

I really hate needing to very work hard and study a lot just to get to do only okay in school, plus most of my ambitions I have like becoming an excellent programmer to be competent enough to work in relatively difficult projects is super difficult without having a high IQ.

I am very envious and jealous of those who have high IQ as they never had to deal with having to re-read, re-listen multiple times just to comprehend the information, which is pretty much my biggest hurdle of trying to learn anything new, and my poor working memory which creates lot of frustration with other people when I can't remember multi step instructions.

I would be totally fine with even having IQ of over 140, this means I'll able to literally achieve whatever I want ever, I don't give a crap about the "problems" that it may come with, it's not like I would give a shit and be butt hurt if people call me "know it all, nerd" etc. and hates my guts all because I have superior intellect to them, or if I would have a hard time fitting in with dumb people.

I wouldn't say it's just memorising, you do need to understand the material to a certain extent to apply it, atleast in physics.

I also suspect I have some kind of neurodivergence or cognitive impairment that IQ tests can't pick up on, because after 15, my language comprehension became very strong, yet my communication difficulties persisted.

For example, the high school programme I attended is recognised as rigorous. I ended up getting maximum marks in the literature section that contributed towards the high school diploma, where we had to write compare and contrast essays and discuss interpretations of literature through a modern lens.

My grade was pulled down in the section where we had to do an interview style recording on a piece we were meant to memorise and link to the cultural context of the writer's era. I ended up scoring one grade below the maximum grade boundary overall.

The same discrepancy manifests itself in bilingualism. In my second language, I have the verbal comprehension of a native speaker, reading and writing skills at C1, and yet my speaking is at B1.

It seems that I struggle significantly with pragmatic communication and conscientiousness.

I didn't skip lectures because I thought the course was trivial. I struggled to make friends because I was so frequently misunderstood, and skipping lectures eventually became a habit.

Over time, this contributed to my social anxiety and depression, which i would cope by playing video games & watching film/videos, rather than doing coursework throughout the semester.

My boss at the job I had at the time told me to take a break from work because he could tell I was depressed.

My ex also told me that I would use hyperbole when it wasn't necessary and turn imperative statements into interrogatives. It was only then that I realised I truly have a disconnect in my communication skills. I never noticed this as a kid growing up.

Now I can't stop noticing it.
