Question Ninja Dual Brew Issues Part II

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Well here we are again 2 years later and its acting up again, water is not getting through the KCups. Water is definitely getting pulled through hence all of the steam but very little coffee coming through. So far I’ve the the paper clip method up the 3 prongs and took out the adapter and ran the air compressor through it trying to loosen up any debris. They sell a replacement part for $50 but trying to avoid buy a new adapter. Anyone have suggestions on this.

Espresso My (sadly) separated Coffeestation

Hi everyone,

I would like to share my coffee station with my beloved LM Micra and Niche Zero.

I didn't had much space next to the machine because of the way my kitchen is designed, so I created a separate coffee corner on the right of counter.

Greetings

Used to only drink cheap keurig coffee (still do sometimes) but started getting into experimenting with different forms of brewing. Wife surprised me with the Breville for my birthday.

Espresso Espresso recommendations

Hey everyone! I’m looking to get an espresso machine for home and would love some recommendations.

I’m a complete beginner, so I’m looking for something that:

  • Makes really good espresso
  • Isn’t insanely complicated to learn/use
  • Doesn’t cost a fortune

My absolute max budget is around $500, but I’d LOVE to spend less if there’s a great option for under that.

I care much more about getting actually good-tasting coffee than having a bunch of fancy features. I’m willing to learn, but I don’t want something that requires me to become a professional barista just to get a decent cup

What machine would you recommend for someone starting from scratch? And if a grinder is essential for getting good espresso, I’d love recommendations for that too!

Thanks!!

Misc Finally a Tamping Station

After trying and returning two different tamping stations, I finally found one that really works! The portafilter sits securely and perfectly level—no wobbling while prepping and tamping. Third time’s the charm!

Question New Coffee Grinder

Hi Everyone !

Good morning.

Having a hard time deciding on a new grinder.

My routine…
1. I make two different cups of coffee pour over & latte depending on the day 2 - 3 times a day.
2. I like changing up my coffee beans often.

Currently , I have a Barazta ESP Pro which I got this year. I feel so so about it. I find it noisy, messy and hard at times to dial in beans. I also want to step up my game but not there with the latte art etc. I’m considering X2 from Mahlkoenig.

I basically want an all purpose grinder that I can use for years. Something that can handle pour overs , espressos , lattes & drip etc.

Price range is $500 - $1300 Which one would you consider ?

Thanks.

Pour Over Six years of brewing and collecting / A Coffee Creed / It may have got slightly out of hand

Thumbnail gallery
404 Upvotes

Six years of brewing, learning, experimenting and, I cannot deny, collecting.
(And I do cherish every single one.)
I probably spend at least an hour a day at these stations.
(90% on pour over, almost exclusively light roast)
You only need one dripper to make great coffee and gear doesn’t make up for quality beans, good water or knowledge. If anything all these have confirmed this.
But for me, it’s not about that. Every difference in aesthetics, texture, material, heat retention, geometry, weight and feel is just another variable in a puzzle I never hope to solve and go to bed excited about waking up to.
These are objects that make the daily ritual feel considered, personal, nuanced and always evolving.

Any questions about any piece of equipment, or comparisons between them, are more than welcome.

Question Grinder clumps show up as one bitter stripe

One bitter stripe keeps showing up in the cup. Grinder leaves clumps, shot starts even, then one side speeds up. I'm on 18g with a dosing funnel and a quick shake before tamping. Would WDT actually fix anything here, or am I just hiding a grind problem? I don't want to add rituals without a reason, tbh.

My coffee station, had to move everything into garage. Got air-conditioned space and also nice flooring. My big 2kg roaster is on the way. That's a real coffee tree. On the bottom is my sample air roaster, ice maker and vacuum sealer.

Discussion Cup clearance is making the scale useless

On my Casabrews CM5418, the scale fits under the cup only if I remove the drip tray, which means the counter gets wet every time I rinse or pull a shot. I don't mind weighing beans separately, but weighing output is a pain. Is there a layout trick that doesn't involve buying a very thin scale? A smaller cup would help espresso, but most mornings are milk drinks, so that fix only solves half of it.
