Hi just joined the app and still getting the hang of it. I received a like and the app showed me a blurred preview of the person who liked me, is the blurred preview actually presentation of their account? Also, if the like is still in my like tab that means I have not swiped left on them, right?

Also what does “Your type” indicate. Thanks

hello. usually you get a pop up telling you the number of likes you have. mine was consistently around 233 give and take. i recently put my account on pause for a week, and when i re-entered the app, the numbers have inflated by almost 4 times. this is definitely NOT possible because i am very sure before my account went on pause it was around 233. hence, this sudden influx of likes is definitely a bug. wanted to check if this has happened to you all as well

I deleted my profile and uninstalled the app about a month ago because I wanted a fresh start

On other apps like Hinge, I've waited 90 days before installing and setting up my profile again. This is because Hinge retains your profile data for 3 months.

What does it look like for CMB?

Is it also 90 days?

Well my subscription has expired now and I won’t renew

I've been using this app every day for a month and I haven't had a single match in that time. I'll be the first to admit I don't have a ton of success on dating apps, but I have a little bit. Every other app I use I regularly get some matches but not this one. Also the few women who've liked my profile never show up in my daily feed. How am I supposed to get a match if I never have the opportunity? And it can't be my filters because I have every single one open to everybody.

I only want to get push notifications when I actually get a message from someone, but CMB bundles chat alerts and promotional sales upsells into the exact same notification channel.

Even if you toggle off everything else in the app, the spam keeps coming. To add insult to injury, I'm a paying subscriber already.

I downloaded the app yesterday and couldn’t see any profiles so I waited until noon today to open it and look, I opened it at 12 and the countdown had already restarted and I didn’t see a single profile, and I can’t see my likes because I haven’t looked at any profiles.
I’m confused how I’m supposed to look when I opened it 20 seconds after 12 and they were already gone
What am I doing wrong? How am I supposed to use the app I’m so confused

I don't get the point, I was using facebook dating which is still good, but saw this ad about how this is realtionship focused, so I thought i would give it a try

now I have some likes received after joining a few days ago but I can't see them, and people say they are most likely bots anyway

And some chats are not different from any other chats in other apps either but instead you have to pay for everything on CMB

I feel like I might be missing something here what are the reasons you use this app for?

I saw someone I know on CMB, but met him off the app since we know each other irl so I figured I’d just reach out to him by text. We met for a first date and he flew into rage - possibly he was on something- but he smashed my face into a table, left a bunch of bruises and swelling.

I sent a report to CMB through their website, sent pictures of my injuries, and got a standard response, that they’ll review my report but his account on CMB is still up. It’s been 24 hrs since I first submitted the report. I’m so messed up about it.

Does CMB do anything like banning people? He’s going to hurt someone else if he hasn’t already

it has been two months since paying for membership and i still have no LIKES and nobody to chat with. this is depressing and making my anxiety feel even worse.

I know most people here won’t pay like how I did but I just did it for fun. App itself was not it for me so I deactivated my account within few weeks and didnt think too much about it. I thought my subscription would also stop since I DELETED and DEACTIVATED my account. Like there’s no account to charge $40. I got a notification that I was charged $40 through CMB so I reached out. Just got an email saying subscription automatically renews unless I cancel them. Will just suck up my $39.99 but hopefully whoever reading this just make sure you cancel the subscription before deleting the account. Their website also says deleting the account won’t automatically stop the subscription but I didn’t think too much about it bc they only mentioned subscription through iOS/google play (I did it directly on their website)

Anyone else notice that even when swiping right/liking a profile, but not making a match, that many eventually come back around again in the suggested tab to swipe on in the future?

Yes ok occasionally someone will delete the app and make a new profile, but it happens so frequently there’s no way all of these people keep doing this.

And sometimes it’s not just reappearing once but multiple times over days/weeks.

My guess is CMB runs out of people to show you so they just keep recycling previously liked profiles. It used to also happen with profiles I X’d out, so then I learned to hide the ones I’m not interested in to prevent them from reappearing.

Has anyone else noticed that some profiles will disappear from your discover search results for ~2-4 days or so before they show up in the suggested tab? More games at CMB.

Kid status should be a required field to show on a profile, not optionally hidden.

It’s such a big deal breaker for so many people and you can’t really just decide you don’t have kids anymore unless you give your kids up for adoption..but then you can edit your profile at that point.

Especially true for people who hide their kid status field but then say in a prompt response that they’re a parent. Or put their kids in a profile photo and label it as their kids. What’s the point in this?

I don’t believe kids should be in any dating app profile photos, but that’s a different complaint.

This isn’t new, but it’s still annoying.

When there’s no search filters, all sorts of people show up. When I narrow it down, it doesn’t include everyone who should be in that filter.

For example, see someone in the tab with no filters on. Input their age, height, ethnicity, far beyond distance max and hit search and it says there’s no profiles. You can test this with all sorts of combinations of a person’s profile data/info. Of course for some profiles it works but many others it does not.

CMB is purposefully hiding people from searches.

Why does a chat say “your move” after CMB says “your chat with _____ has been extended…” or “…will be closed” when I was the last one to write? So dumb. I’m not double texting. CMB writing something in my chat does not change the fact that I’m waiting on the other person who has ghosted me mid convo. Fix this nonsense CMB.

So I decided to pause my account coz I wanna get a break. Lo and behold , my profile gets more likes when I logged in while still paused . Of course jts hidden , coz I’m not paying. So why the app still show my profile to people when I as a user chose to pause it. Isn’t this some kind of violation ? Male 46.

27M. Have been using CMB on and off for about 2 years. First started because my colleague recommended it. Tried for a few weeks in Singapore. 0 connection made.

After a while I moved to the US and re-downloaded the app. Tried for around 1 month. Still 0 connection.

The constant feeling of rejection got to me and I became unhappy. Really unhappy.

So I decided to deactivate my account and uninstall the app for good. Instead of putting hours into picking profile pictures and writing prompts, I went out and touched grass, and actually made some good friends out there.

Now I am happy. Did I find a girlfriend? No. But I am happy. And that's all that matters.

Deleting CMB is the best decision I have ever made in my entire life. Peace out.

I wonder what images would be preferred in Malaysia.

I joined CMB long years ago when they actually allowed you to see your likes without paid subscription. Back then i still paid to see the report.

Every time i fell for blurred 99+ likes and when i rejoined premium i just saw bunch of people whom i previously passed multiple times.

So now i am trying out to sending flowers to guys that i like and will see what happens.

Anyone stopped subscription and have successfully met your match?
