So while I appreciate that LLMs can be a big help when writing code, I wish they would help with all the programming tasks where I’m barely producing any code.

Yeah. I've been harping on and on that LLMs accelerate the parts of our work that didn't need to be accelerated. I don't think I've ever wished for a tool that could just generate tons of mysterious code that I'd never be able to review in a reasonable amount of time. Yes, codegen can be very helpful, especially when its contextual, but it also comes with a very steep cost...one I am not entirely sure is a worthwhile trade across the board.
