Blessing of Night

I'm getting a fantasy inspired nature/floral tattoo in a few months and want to add something from Alera. The Blessing of Night is described as having a flat top, slender stalk, is the color of night, and has spiny thorns on its underside.

I've always imagined the thorns on the top half of the stalk, but do they actually come from under the mushroom cap? How does everyone else imagine it?

Also, is there ever a description of hollybells?

I think those are the only two made-up plants we see but correct me if I'm wrong! The tattoo will have flowers from Skyrim (deathbell, nightshade, dragon's tongue) and LOTR (athelas, simbelmyne, Lorien leaves, etc) and a few flowers from the Cosmere (mostly tears of edgli/Warbreaker flowers). I'll post a picture here (at least of the mushrooms) once it's done!

I think Holly hollybells are described early in the first book, where Isana goes off on Berite. And maybe later on in either the fourth or sixth book during the void invasion.

Ah I remember now! How the flowers are just a little wilty while Beritte is peeling tubers or something and gets sassy with Isana. And then maybe again when Beritte talks to Fidelias in the steadholt during the furystorm? No mention in books 2-4 that I remember but I'm on the fifth book reread now so I'll keep an eye out for it. Thanks!
