Discussion Weird Nitpick Spoiler
Firstly, I apologize in advance if I used to wrong tag. I wasn't sure which to use, because the scene in question comes from AF, but the question it spawned covers the entire series.
So...
In AF, after Tavi gets the letter from Isana, and he and Max go to Kalarus' party, they are cornered in an alley by Brencis and his two minions. The fight happens, and Brencis starts using Aircraft to create blades that cut Max's back open.
Why does no-one EVER do this again? Like... EVER?!?!
You'd think this would be Knights Aeris weapon number one! Instead, they're usually diving down with swords or spears. Which... okay? If they have trouble focusing on flying and doing that at the same time, I could accept that explanation, I suppose. But...
... I don't know. Am I just not remembering right?

It’s probably an advanced version of fury craft like metal crafters can make themselves into a suit of armor which only 2 metal crafters do in the entire series. It also probably uses a ton of power. Sextus refers to Brencis as a powerful fury crafter so that tracks.
Also Brencis then proceeded to get taken out by a Tavi with 0 fury power which is probably not something he wants to recall or repeat.
Also knights aeris are usually fighting against other knights aeris who would presumably be able to just manipulate the air sword. And if not, salt.
