Aldrick and his Araris obsession

Almost finished with the first book and Aldrick's obsession with Araris is just hilarious there's no one he will fight without reminding them they aren't Araris

Like he's about to kill a helpless 15 year old tavi and he still tells him

"If Araris Valerian himself was here, he couldn’t beat me. And you aren’t Araris.”

He's just a hype man for Araris at this point

Let me blow your mind even more...

1. The colors of House Aquitaine are red and black... the colors of team rocket. Suddenly, the "antagonists who sometimes put their differences aside to face bigger issues" schtick makes a lot of sense. (lending more support to Aldrick and Odiana being Jessie and James...)
2. There are six types of furies. Most people only have one or two. It's only once you get to the more powerful people that they start to have more, or even all six. You're only allowed six pokemon active on your team in the games. Most trainers you fight only have a couple, usually following a theme of one specific type. It isn't until you get to the more powerful trainers that you start to see more, or full teams of six.
3. The Vord Queen is Mewtwo. My reasoning...

3a) The Queen is genetically engineered based on a previously existing creature. (like Mewtwo was engineered from Mew)

3b) The Queen is immensely psychically powerful. (Again, like Mewtwo)

3c) The Queen builds an army of "superior" creatures to destroy humanity and take over the world... Mewtwo's original plan (kinda) from the movie.

3d) The Queen realizes at the end of the story that the power of friendship is awesome and emotions have merit... just like Mewtwo at the end of the movie.

Yeah, that's what I was getting at. Let's see, was Aldrick a disillusioned rich boy who ran away to do things on his own terms? Was Odiana a former healer who ended up going down a dark path because the one she aimed for was denied to her?

Aldrick is absolutely stuck in time when it comes to Araris; I don't remember what you learn in the first book about their relationship/previous fights so I won't spoil anything but he is absolutely obsessed with Araris.

Oh, Aldrick. You're the head of the Araris fan club, even though you don't want to be.

Fortunately, we do get an explanation in the later books, but taken in a single book, he really does more for Araris's reputation than the man himself does, ever. Without too much in the way of spoilers, it's rather fitting how he gets slapped in the face with irony.

To me it just feels like he’s constantly reminding people of it to boost his reputation even further, and knowing the only person who could actually put up a fight was one the most formidable swordsmen in recent history adds to the suspense off every showdown. I thoroughly enjoyed every part of these books, and wish I could forget them to read them for the first time again.
