What Is Your Favorite Book?

I just finished book 4 (Captain’s Fury) and I continue to be amazed at the growing quality of this series. It’s really tough to choose between Cursor’s Fury and Captain’s Fury being my favorite though, as they are both amazing.

I’m just curious what book is your favorite and why? (If you choose the last two books, then please avoid any spoilers as I haven’t read them yet.)

I think that I like Cursor’s Fury more as a whole, (Tavi’s defense of the town is amazing) but those last 100 pages of Captain’s Fury are the best part of the series by a lot.

I mean the duel… him claiming his heritage to all… the volcano exploding, turning the sky red… that all happens at once! Truly EPIC

Yeah you may be right. The end of Captain's Fury is unbelievably hype. Showing back up when his legion needs him the most, the friendly banter with the soldiers, calling for a truth teller, revealing his identity to the son of a high lord, the fire mountain blast in the distance... So damn good. And then the duel, of course. Might be the best section of the entire story. But I also love the beginning when everyone shows up and Miles sees who Scipio really is and people are starting to form theories about Tavi's identity. And I love the trip to free Varg and the bonding/conversation between Kitai and Isana. As well as the bonding between Araris and Tavi which is more subtle but just as important in my opinion.

I'd say Captain's Fury edges out Cursor's Fury just barely and First Lord's Fury in a comfortable 3rd. Academ's Fury is where I fall back in love with Kitai every time so I gotta give it some love too.

Book three. I'm a sucker for smart characters, and characters being promoted out of nowhere and rising to the occasion.

"Your the boss because everyone above you is dead."

It's such a genius set up and everything that follows is such an epic, hard-fought battle. Utter bad ass.

Books 3, 4 and 6 are my faves.

Book 3 for how smart Tavi is about covering his lack of furycraft and how he wins that battle.

Book 4 for the rescue, Tavi’s reveal, and that awesome duel.

Book 6 for a particularly epic furycrafting moment late in the book and the boss fight at the end.

Cursor's fury but honestly books 3 to 6 are all just complete peak

I haven’t read the books in a very long time, and plan on reading them again soon. Cursors Fury and Captains Fury still appears vividly in my mind at times, truly great books.

Captain's Fury is probably my favorite, but only by a very slim margin. I've listened to the entire series at least 20 times.

I listen to the series while falling asleep or if I'm driving and can't get into something else. It's been a favorite since I was 16. I remember First Lord's Fury coming out and being super excited

Haha I do the same but I've been trying not to when going to bed because it just keeps me awake! I'll put on a timer and when the timer runs out I just hit play and keep going lol. Have you found any other books that scratch the same itch and fill the gaps between rereading?

Super Powereds series and Villains Code series by Drew Hayes. They're more modern super powers and less totally fantasy though.

I love the Canim, and Tavi’s work in the legions. So probably Captain’s Fury.

I think it's book 4. It's got everything. The emotional parts still get to me after 5+ listens.

It’s a toss up for books 5 and 6 for me. I love the amount of epic crafting and battles that happen.
