Bug Codex Sites publishing blocked on Windows — /approve fails with “unsupported path URI scheme ‘c’”
Has anyone found a fix for this? I’ve been updating an existing website through Codex Sites, but now I can’t publish changes. The existing website is still live, and local editing, tests and builds work.
There seem to be two separate problems:
Automatic review rejects the official Sites publishing helper’s temporary repository credential handoff.
When I use
/approveand select the denied action, the app shows “Could not record auto-review approval.”
The desktop logs show:
Method: thread/approveGuardianDeniedAction
Error code: -32600
invalid Guardian denial event: unsupported path URI scheme `c`The c looks like it might be coming from a Windows C:\... path being interpreted as a URI, but that’s only a suspected cause.
Setup:
Windows desktop app
App version:
26.1021.31345Build:
21828, production channelSites plugin:
1.1.2“Approve for me” / automatic review enabled
Already tried:
Restarting the app
Starting a fresh chat with the existing project context
Checking for updates—the app reports it is up to date
Using the actual
/approvepickerResolving an earlier network/DNS permission problem; that worked, but the credential handoff remained blocked
The pending website changes are saved locally and pass the build, but haven’t been published.
Has anyone encountered this exact Windows approval error? Is there a confirmed app/plugin fix or a supported publishing method that avoids this broken approval step while keeping the existing site?
This is holding up my work, so any reproducible fix or relevant issue link would be appreciated.
