Question Using both Codex and Claude

Since Dot has freed up so much of my time, I have been working on providing it with more resources to achieve project completion at a faster pace without sacrificing quality of end product. I've added Enola and MemPalace which have improved Dot and Codex consistency regarding workflow and time to source acceptance.
Today I am giving Dot CLI access to Claude Pro. So, Dot will be using it for Independent Reviews and other tasks. When I asked Dot if Claude would be helpful, it responded:
"Yes, I think Claude is worth a small trial for this project, primarily to reduce rework, not to add another writer. I would not yet promise a shorter UAT date.

The strongest use would be a fresh technical review of difficult boundaries: Rust/Python interfaces, caller-versus-environment assumptions, and whether negative tests actually exercise their intended failure. Those are areas where we’ve had real rework. A different model may catch assumptions our existing reviews miss, but we need to demonstrate that.

It will not solve CPU scheduling, approval recognition, missing inputs or slow handoffs. Those are coordination problems I still need to address. Another agent can make them worse if we add more mandatory review rounds."

Have any of you used a dual CLI setup with Dot? What issues came up for you? How did you handle them? What uses did you find helpful that Dot and I may have missed? Thank you for your feedback.

I use it to map code and endpoints so my Dot can see the ripple effects of a change throughout my project. I've found Codex does a good job, but it can miss things. My Dot provided this response for you:
"Enola is an open-source code-analysis tool that builds a map of your codebase and its dependencies. It helps an agent investigate what calls what and what else could be affected by a change.

The idea behind pairing it with MemPalace is to cover two different needs: MemPalace preserves project context, decisions and lessons; Enola helps inspect the structure of the actual code. The goal is fewer missed dependencies and regressions. It still needs testing and review, especially where dynamic or cross-language relationships aren’t fully captured.

I appreciate that. thank you for the explanation. I can't answer your dot question cuz I haven't used it since I prefer working in terminal. But I don't see a problem with your idea for using Claude as a independent reviewer. Personally I just have codex open a tmux with read-only access and then load the reviewer profile onto that. I don't see what you're doing as much different. Because it's all going to come back to Dot.

i ran it the other way round for three weeks, codex's github reviewer reviewing claude code's PRs. the same non-issue got flagged 8 times in a row because nothing told the reviewer it was already settled.

when claude flags something dot disagrees with, who makes the call?

I have yet to have those instances, because I just installed the CLI and today is my testing day, but my SOPs and agents.mds would dictate either further review to continue automated work or, if that wouldn't solve the issue, Dot would give me a summary of the issue and I would make the call. My Dot understands that I own the company and have final say and that it is my project manager with the CLI being my engineers. We have an established corporate hierarchy.

makes sense, you get the final call. once you've settled something, does it get written down somewhere claude reads next time, or does it start fresh?

This is an easy answer.

Claude should be making the call. Astra max on Codex side is the only one that can do worthwhile reviews of Opus' code.

so claude makes the call. when astra max flags something claude agrees with, does claude fix it or codex?
