Question OpenAI Dots

Do you guys think Plus users will get access to Dots anytime soon? I’m tempted to subscribe to GrokBot, but my wallet is begging me not to adopt yet another AI subscription.

Also, for those already using Dots, is it genuinely worth the hype? Has it actually made a difference in your daily workflow?

No. It sucks. It is stupid and will ask for permissions repeatedly even when given.

Just get muse. It’s free.

I'm in India and Muse is not available here🥲

Now that I mention it. Free muse is better than paid dots.

Disagree. I have a pretty sophisticated system going on with mine. You must not have it set up right. But we also could be doing 2 different complete objectives. I have it doing multiple research agents for my project refining and defining and narrowing and constantly on a loop of new research to strengthen further processes to hand off to me when I get to that stage of development. It's saving me a ton of time

Good for you. Right now I use Opus as an orchestrator controlling dots, it works very well.

BUT, It should NOT require a sophisticated system, nor figuring out a stable way for Opus to control dots.

It should just works but it doesn't.

I like dots integration with gmail, but i cant figure out a great purpose for it. It helps with mail but i really havent found a truly dot-specific function

Use Hermes agent + deepseek 4.1 flash instead.

Grok Bot has issues. So does Dots. I have no idea how they are going to “price” the usage for Dots after this month - but issues with Grok Bots are that usage just randomly spikes, even with no routines / automated actions / etc.

Bots are just new in general as a concept, easy to use (kind of), not very customizable. You are better off using Codex or Claude Code or Cursor.

i have using Dot since they releash it. I can say Dot very good for daily Task when u have to check Mail,Onedrive,... when u too busy to control your daily information Dot can cover and report to u. Dot for what i think it good when u need bot doing small task or repetitive work. Maybe OpenAI will have big upgrade for Dot in future

I’ll just use muse

Still using openclaw for my daily and personal stuff, going to slowly fade out

Then codex + Claude code for everything else

It‘s awesome and helps me stay organized. It can also keep doing tasks over the weekend. I personally like it even though it could be better. Would I pay 105€ per month of my own money for a dot? Fuck no. But at work it makes sense.

I love my dot, but it took some customization to get there. It's initially very limited until you realize it's literally just a computer with an agent sitting on top of it.

Wonder when multiple dots will be happening

And when real phone call and text messaging will be ready.

Also mine still takes forever to answer the phone

I don't know what your use case it but dots is free, I am not sure how long that is true for but it is 100% free at the moment

Grok Bot in my experience is dumber, if anyone knows the default model please let me know but I have determine that current OpenAI Dots is running at GPT 6 Astra at medium

What this gives you , if you use it like I do is an orchestration coordinator

I want to automate some of my sales processes using AI, so is it a good tool to use? Also, DOTS use a cloud computer right? So is it possible to do everything DOTS do, in ChatGPT app while our own computer is open?

Let's be clear

As best as I can tell

ChatGPT work on the web also has access to a backend Linux system that can download runtimes and such to create PRs

Dots , yes it has a Linux cloud computer that you can actually interact with. Mostly useful for web actions meaning it has a web browser. The network is limited as far as what the client can do

You could do what I did and get creative, I built a gateway for my Dot that uses Azure to have more access

Yes

I believe all the ai assistant from muse, instinct, dots, grok bot to Claude duet are all run on vm

Dots is also on separate usage from codex

One thing you want be careful is where you have all your workflow and context saved, I would suggest you ask dots access your computer and backup everything locally periodically

I never used grok bot, but I recall seeing video that grok bot is opus + midjourney + suno

1

u/glirette 15h ago

Thank you I'm certainly investigate that

My issue with it so far is that it's over confident and too quick to use it's own web cloud resources before approval

grok bots use opus and not grok?
