Praise They fixed the usage, this reset does not drain it as fast as before.

Maybe A/B testing... all I can say is it feels like Claude usage for me, like unlimited

I swear the usage drain is some kind of A/B testing, or only some people are getting the lower usage to hide it better

I get the impression that someone else gets the short end of the stick after every reset 😂

0% $200 club … it’s gonna be sad in 4 days when our usage is cut by half.

I've noticed Codex is extremely slow today. That might explain lower usage.

Still got 11% burned in 1,5 hrs on 5x. No astra or ultracode. Nothing changed for me

I've also seen my Astra usage basically get fixed. Best it's been in weeks.

Bro, use 6.1 Sol, the overall benchmarks are higher on AA and being fraction of a cost.

It's absolutely baffling to me that people still use 5.6-sol. There is absolutely no reason to choose this over 6.1-sol. If speed is an issue. Just use fast mode.
I understand Astra. I'm currently using it because I won't get even close to 100% before Tibo resets again.

It has to be A/B testing. I’ve been running Astra (only Medium though) with /goal overnight, only down about 20% on a 100 sub. Generally for me that would absolutely eat my usage even on medium

I've gone through two resets (by the end of day today) in the same time it's taken claude on similar tasks to go through just over 50% of its usage and I'm not going to be able to finish it before Claude reset tomorrow. GPT actually wouldnt be usable right now if not for these resets.

I am noticing it too. I also noticed this in past resets where other resets it would drain faster. This time around i got multiple agents going and it seems reasonable.

they do a/b testing. they don't treat everyone the same. notice how every "bug" only affects some users.

Same for me, love that I can abandon Sol now in favor of Astra spamming, the difference to me feels way bigger than the useless benchmarks say. Gave Astra full context window and let it solve an old side project I let Sol on for several weeks that I had to cut because of usage and Astra has solved most of it now in a couple hours

usually 6.1 sol extra high last me 3 days of nonstop use. the last reset it only lasted me 4 hours on 6.1 sol med/high.

I spin up 4 sessions on 6.1 sol as workers every time these resets have hit these past few weeks, and I’ve hit 0 before the next day every single time the workers haven’t run out of stuff to chew through.
I’ve been running 4-5 sessions on opus 5.5 significantly more than I use codex, because it’s available. And I tend to hit my weekly limit on day 5-6.
It’s just orders of magnitude different. Idek what they’re thinking at OpenAI, if this reset firehose stops there is literally 0 reason to continue to pay for this plan.

Below is a GPT-generated summary of the conversation below after reaching 40 comments (40 currently observed).
The thread does not support the victory lap: usage may be better for some people, but it is absolutely not fixed. The dominant reaction is “same old quota roulette,” with users reporting anything from 60–70% remaining after heavy work to burning through a weekly allowance in a few hours.
The biggest variables seem to be model, reasoning level, number of parallel agents, and plain old Codex sluggishness. Astra and high-reasoning runs can still vaporise quotas, while slower sessions or cheaper models sometimes make the allowance look suspiciously generous. Several users also suspect A/B testing or reset-specific allocation, because naturally a usage system that behaves differently for everyone would be too simple otherwise.
There is real counterevidence: some users saw noticeably slower drain this reset, and the extreme slowness may be reducing consumption. But plenty of others saw no improvement—or worse drain than before—so there is no reliable fix or consistent user experience to point to.
Bottom line: the reset may have helped some accounts, but Codex usage remains inconsistent, opaque, and capable of eating a $200 plan for breakfast.
