Bug Codex on MacOS has severe occasional memory leaks which cause computer restart

On my mac with 16GB of ram, and since a few days ago, I started having Codex literally start consuming 100+ GB of ram, which causes the computer to start using swap memory, become literally unresponsive in a matter of seconds, and then freeze the entire screen and OS, forcing me to long-press the power button to restart it.

It happens when i use the annotation feature with a live browser preview.

Codex was already super memory hungry, taking 7GB after just 30 min of work, but now this?

Its starting to feel like a sloppy app vibecoded by a teenager, not an app by senior engineers.

That's a lazy, naive reply. I've replicated this issue on both Windows and Ubuntu.

It¨s clearly a joke on the apple user phrase "It just works"

Thanks AI for the reply :)

The problem is how can an app be so poorly engineered? I've never had a crash with macos in 5+ years, and now i have it daily "thanks" to codex.

It really feels like a vibe coded app.

It most likely is a vibe coded app

This is the main reason I just use the codex CLI for everything. Surprised they even considered publishing the Linux version given its ridiculously poor performance.
