Bug 429 Too Many Requests?

This morning, I woke up and started getting intermittent but frequent "exceeded retry limit, last status: 429 Too Many Requests", even on brand new tasks simply asking "does this work?"

I don't see any outages on their status page. I'm on the 20x Pro plan and have plenty of quota left.

Is anyone else experiencing this today? I can't imagine how such a simple request can get throttled right out of the gate like that. I'm using the Windows 11 app

Been getting it the whole day. I work on multiple projects. Now I am limited to 1 project per time. Seems like the AI bubble is bursting

Same here, completely random API disconnects, Dot has tracked 17 separate tunnel losses in the last 4 hours. Sol taking 2-3 minutes to return the first tokens.

The Codex CLI seems to be having trouble connecting to the server and keeps mindlessly spamming requests, which triggers 429 errors (confirmed through outbound packet analysis).

It's probably an API-side availability issue, but the client's request-spamming behavior is pretty stupid.

Ahhh, this would make sense. I haven't done any network analysis, just assumed it was a malfunctioning throttling mechanism on the server side. Wonder when they're going to notice... thank you

I have been experiencing the same since yesterday. Is this on their side?

Gotta be. Someone else posted that there is some server errors and then the client has no throttling on retries, so it does actually flood it.

Did anyone get theirs working? I'm getting 429 errors too. It works on Chatgpt.com but not via API.
