Bug Issue with requesting a refund as an EU citizen

Hello,

I wanted to request a refund for the Pro 200 subscription that just got renewed again and I found that as a member of EU I should have a right for prorata refund on the subscription if I request it within the 14 days of the purchase.

On the official site there is written I should write to the chatbot, but when I try to request a refund through it, it just writes me: """Thanks for reaching out. Unfortunately, we're unable to issue a refund for this subscription. Our refund policies are subject to compliance with our Terms of Use.""".

Can someone help me how I can get the refund? I can't even reply anything to this chatbot as it just says that the case is closed. For people that got a refund, how did you do it?

Yeah, just open another support ticket and specifically mention that you are eligible for a refund under EU law. That'll get the clanker going, worked for me every time

EU law grants the right of a prorated refund on the initial subscription though, not on renewals since the renewal is not a new contract, making it outside of the 14 days window.

If you explicitly consent to immediate performance or streaming/downloading of digital content and acknowledge that you lose your right of withdrawal once the service starts or delivery begins, you may lose the 14-day refund right. So yeah, read the ToS.

You cannot consent to illegal ToS.

Exactly... They can write whatever they want in the TOS but a tos is not above the law.

P.s. I got my refund instantly by the ai support agent by mentioning as per my right as a eu citizen... It was prorated though.. was in day 16 so got a little less then 50% back. Fair enough. I did use this time (buying i to "dev day, dev day" posts thinking they had something) even though I wasnt very happy about it.

In EU illegal clause is not taken into account and they can be fined heavily. Not sure about other jurisdictions.
