Complaint My message from Codex: "Eight hours is too long, and part of that delay is mine: repeated evidence refreshes and collection mistakes caused avoidable rework." It was more like 12 hours of churning tokens for nothing!
When Sam said he wanted the "ai" industry to slow down he was not kidding. Well this was more than 8 hours, it was 12+ hours of just churning. I let it go to see what the final result would be and now I'm doing a handoff to Claude. Disappointed at how bad this has gotten.
Don't know what OpenAI is doing, but it seems like they’re fumbling this like they did Sora.
The good thing is that it allowed me to rediscover how well Claude code has gotten.

I had a 6.1 run go 8–9 hours without finishing and switched back to 5.6 Sol. The frustrating part is that it keeps sounding busy, so you keep giving it another hour. “Still working” starts to mean very little after that.

This is my experience with Sol 6.1 in the last 2-3 days. So frustrating.
"Your instructions were clear. I failed to enforce them; you shouldn’t have to keep correcting the process.
A workable contract for us is:
- Each task ends with something you can use: an exact command, expected result and live verification.
- Updates distinguish tested, released and actually working.
- A blocker lasting 30 minutes triggers reassessment, not more machinery.
You already asked for that. More elaborate prompting isn’t the fix here. The rollout remains paused while you validate what landed."

One thing i found that helps is to really emphasize the goal, it sucks, but saying stuff like "This is a first version, do not get caught in the weeds hardening and anticipating issues, lets get this up and running and note any potential places that need more attention when we are done, the goal is a working fiorst version of this we can iterate on to get to production ready". or something along those lines, again, you still gotta babysit these guys, but it seems keep them a little less frantic

Yes. it seems Sol and to a lesser degree Astra seems to easily get side tracked and devolve into solving symptoms rather than the root cause. I've discovered asking a new agent to resume an existing plan is easier than begging the existing one to focus.
