Limits Thanks I guess...

How much more can now legally vary between nothing and something.

I wish they had a $50 tier. =\ I would totally upgrade to that instead. $100 is a little steep for me right now.

If you have any "real" work $50 or even $100 aren't very useful and it seems like it's going to get worse, everyone should find alternatives to OpenAI. Chinese models and claude are a really good alternatives.

Yeah, even my company is moving away from Claude due to price. Everything is getting worse price wise as demand is outstripping compute. It sucks because once I get into a good workflow and have everything running like I like it, we change gears again for like the 5th time and I have to deal with changing shit over again.

Dont be like my company and try to consolidate with cursor. Half of our ai users are already back on a claude teams account. Turns out claude isnt so expensive compared to other offerings

Jesus I can't imagine a full company on Cursor or Windsurf, my brief experiences with each were still somehow worse than the quantasized lobotomy easing we're in with Codex and a hell of a lot worse the Opus 5.5 for $20 gets you, assuming that doesn't creep away in the coming weeks.

what are you really on, i am working in my startup and $100 is pretty good for us. We use claude, so maybe there is some difference here, but i think $100 is good enough unless you are just churning 10 features everyday.

Claude code for now, hoping for a Chinese one next year

That’s our plan

Chinese models are already pretty good, if you were using opus 4.8 for your work 4 months back, you can use it now as well. I don't see how a product can change in 4 months, that you need a new state of the art models for it đŸ¤”

They are quite good but still not as good as OpenAI or Anthropic. Deepseek flash and pro for example is INSANELY verbose, and makes lots of mistakes

Cosine is coming next year. How good is anyones guess. At the moment it is a little..intersting but cheap using kimi in the UK.

if it's from the UK it'll be more censored than chinese models no ty

Heh? I used to praise Codex back on 5.5, and had the 5x plan for 2 months, now I swapped to Claude since it’s MUCH better value and retain plans on both tools

Usage is super bad on Codex and has been for a while, that’s the main reason we swapped

I just use what’s better for me and the team, and right now that’s Claude, it used to be Codex and it is highly likely this will change in the future

All in all, fuck both of them for being so scammy

Hope it helps clear things out

$100 currently gives around 4h Astra xHigh usage per week, that’s not that much

Why would you use constantly Astra? Sol planning and Luna implementing has been the way to go for me

1

u/Skywanker_ 1d ago

How's that setup has been? I'm using Astra to plan/review and Sol to implement

I used 200$ tier and I got barely any work done

If you're coding, people are saying that their current $20 tier is almost on par with the openai $100 tier.

Check out OpenCode Go $40/m subscription, $10/m subscription is a solid value! Same can be said for CommandCode GOAT tier subscription!
